Crossing Sonoma Street in Torrance, California, the 1st Watson caught some sunlight for a brief moment as it traveled through “The Jungle” on April 1, 2016.

There are often times when I think carrying a small step ladder with me at all times would be very useful! This shop is at the top of a slight slope, I'm not tall, and so with the lens I'd taken I could either include the lamppost and roof or the paved approach, but not both. Now I wish it included some foreground ... I'll take some stilts next time ...
This morning, at dawn.
After again 14 h snowfalls. And it's still going on five hours later... Roads are very dangerous as I experienced this morning.

On my balcony in San Francisco. An orchid that lives in cool mountain climates it does very well outdoors in the chilly temperatures of San Francisco.

The sun had set and the sky glowed pinkish. I was walking on the moors and could just make out Manchester town centre, some 11 miles away. Beyond - the distant dark shadow just right of centre is Jodrell Bank Radio telescope - about 40 miles away.
