More Staedtler Triplus fun on a blank index card. I really need to go buy more colours.

Was blessed with a variety of expressions today, although I didn't get most of it onto paper. Or perhaps I was a bit more awake than usual and was taking notice for once. The gentleman in green at the bottom right was especially lively: wagging his eyebrows, mouth twitching up and down, eyes bulging then drooping again. I truly regret not being able to capture even half of it.

I had put the camera away as I was nearing the end of my walk to work today, when suddenly I came across this perfect, dew-bedecked spiderweb, right at waist height. Basically, nature didn't want me to be done taking pictures.

The tram up to the Getty Centre winds it's way up the hillside right next to the freeway and the junction for the famous Mulholland Drive. This bit of road must have been in so many tv series and movies!

I see him almost every morning, running down Topanga Canyon, always in this same blue jacket, with that bundle tucked under his arm. Sometimes I see him again in the evening, walking back from Santa Monica. I don't know why he runs, or where he goes, but I worry when I don't see him for a few days.

June 2007 Scavenger Hunt: "Caterpillar". I suspect it's a JCB not a Caterpillar, but it has caterpillar tracks.

I found this digger in action on my walk to work.

The camera pans right, then left, then right, then left again -- wobbling quite badly since it was zoomed a long way and hand-held.

All three images are generated from the same video frames. The top image contains slices from towards the left of each video frame, the middle image uses slices from the middle, and the bottom images uses slices from further to the right.

In other words the bottom image catches the digger earliest.

The traditional form of transport on the islands is the horse and cart. Called dokar on Bali and cidomo on Lombok, commonly used as city transport in Ampenan-Mataram-Cakranegara-Sweta area, the horses wear heavy harnessess adorned with silver bells that jingle as they move.

A silly sign in in front of a silly store. I love the expression on the actor's face. From a review on Yelp! - "You can spend HOURS in here. The place is ridiculous but if you like to browse, this is the place for you. It's got a huge selection of all types of odds and ends." Yes, the store definitely lives up to its name. The Driver checks back his train on platform 4 in Cork after arriving with the 12.00 express from Dublin a few minutes earlier. The temperature's was so low all the toilets on the train froze en route forcing a extended toilet stop in Thurles.

Stuck on the freeway on a rainy winter morning.

Taken with my iPAQ Pocket PC (toy camera) and photoshoped.

Traffic jams make for long days... less time for flickr.

this morning, was even more foggy...

Blue ballpoint pen on a blank index card.

Same lady at four different points of reading the paper. The fact that I was sitting in an awkward position might have something to do with it but today wasn't the best sketching day. And I was sitting there, pen poised and with bated breathe for a bit more variety of expressions and it didn't happen.

Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

road to work; field in different colours (yup, thats me, wanted to have a high viewpoint)

this morning on my bike to work (photo taken while riding (thanks Q'pop))

I want to go home it's really late

Standing at the bus stop and as I wait

I could see two headlights suddenly appear

Hope is finally here, my dear

It pulled up slowly right beside me

I got on and looked, it was totally empty

But I didn't care, I was safe

And all it took was a little faith
