Was positively doing a jig on my windowsill trying to attract my attention.

Out of all the Possums that visit me, he is the shyest so I find it quite interesting that he has suddenly started to gravitate towards my window sill.

Who could resist a dancing possum!!!!

Sorry I haven't been around this weekend my dear Flickr's, my narcolepsy decided to take over big time.

Ahhhh, Henry danced into Explore at #409, he says THANK YOU every one.

A Daddy-Long-Legs or Harvestman arachnid with very large pedipalps, missing a couple of legs. More properly referred to as Opiliones, these creatures are not spiders! Observed on a tree in the Centre d'interprétation de la nature du Lac Boivin (CINLB), near Granby, Québec, Canada.

Pentax D-FA 100mm F/2.8 WR Macro plus Raynox DCR-250, with off-camera diffused Godox V850ii flash. Five-frame handheld focus stack at or near MFD, plus a slight crop, so frame should be about 11-12mm wide.

My niece and I spotted 3 of these arachnids (but not spiders) in the Speedwell (Veronica) flowers.

The bluebirds haven't been around much since their second brood fledged in Summer. But I have five feeders in the back yard now and lots of birds. The bluebirds have returned. I think because of the other birds near their nestbox. Daddy is checking it out here. Our beautiful world, pass it on.

All I know is what we call them ..this is from old file , haven't been in the field lately..It was on a cactus plant and this is the backside of it as it was trying to get away from the camera lens as I was poking at it for the macro..Must be nice to tip toe around cactus thorns with ease.. Never knew they had such patterns in their body until I got this close with macro

Actually, granddaddy-longlegs are not spiders. They are a type of arachnid, along with spiders, ticks, mites, and scorpions but they belong to a group called harvestmen not spiders. Also they are usually called “daddy-long-legs” in field guides not “granddaddy-longlegs” and are more appropriately called harvestmen.

"Mom...daddy's home...hide!!"

This was yesterday when I was getting her up from her nap, and she heard the front door opening...too cute!!:)

On a cold and windy day, insects were hunkered in sheltered places, like this very lethargic daddy long legs, hunkered in a geranium leaf.

Draculaura loves when her daddy stops by Monster High .

When I was a kid we only knew them as "daddy longlegs". The actual name is an Eastern Harvestman. This guy was found on north entrance of the Smoky Mountain National Park.

The cranefly is drawn to the warmth of our homes as the temperature falls throughout Autumn. The Cranefly is one of several minibeasts which qualifies for the nickname Daddy Longlegs. The other chief favourite for the honour is the harvestman an arachnid with a fused body and thorax which excludes it from the spider genus which it resembles.

Daddy longlegs are not really spiders.

This toilet paper roll is 4" across.

My Dad was with the 692nd Tank Destroyer Bn during WWII. He never talked about the bad things that happened, only about the men he served with and still thought about. His tank was parked outside the gate when the first survivors were brought out of Dachau. When my Mom died in February, the funeral home arranged for the pastor to conduct the service. At the end of the graveside service, he quietly talked to us, and asked about our Dad. The vastness of the World shrank just a little, when he told us, his Mom was liberated from Dachau.

Big Daddy is the highest dune in the Sossusvlei area; it is about 325 meters high (height may vary over time as it is made of sand). Dune 7 which is the highest dune in the world, not Big Daddy, as it's the seventh dune past the Tsauchab river before dune 45 on your right handside toward Sossusvlei (note that this should not be confused with another "Dune 7" found in Namibia, near Walvis Bay). Big Daddy is located past Sossusvlei proper, near Dead Vlei. It faces another very high dune known as "Big Mama".

Daddy is feeling well enough to play the guitar again. Just having him want to play is a good sign.

I have sat by his side and listened to him sing and play ever since I was a little girl. You've probably guessed by now that I am a Daddy's girl. Don't get me wrong; I loved my mom with all my heart and I miss her dearly. There's something different about fathers and daughters though. He still tells me, "No matter how old you get, you will always be our little girl."

I did have what I thought was a decent build to accompany them, but the actual photography was very difficult. For now, at least, here's the figures.
