Since this spring our property has been chuck full of Goldfinches. At first I was a little bothered as they seemed to be taking over the bird feeders. But now that I've watched them closely I've grown very fond of their funny behaviors. Oh and these wee little birds eat like a teenager!
We have juveniles now and I'm sure the little ones are enjoying the seeds from our sunflowers.
This "Daddy" was showing off for me turning his head every which way. Isn't he handsome:)

Ms. Monnie turned 4 yesterday & her Dad, my son's [Sincere] birthday is today December 3rd, they have a cruel joke going as his dad's birthday is tomorrow, he was born the day before his Dad & Ms. Monnie was born the day before him, lol.
Big Daddy is the tallest dune in the Sossusvlei area. This magnificent dune is situated between Sossusvlei and Deadvlei and at 325 meters it dwarfs the other dunes. Should you want the ultimate bragging rights, take a lot of water and trek to the top of Big Daddy where you can look down onto Deadvlei.

Daddy's Girl Priscilla Grace Queen of the Forest is all grown up now, happy and healthy and spoiled rotten, she is a "helper" cat and likes to be involved in daily activities, she resides in North Carolina.
In the Garden.
The daddy longlegs is actually a large type of cranefly, of which there are 94 species in the UK. It is familiar to us in its adult form as the gangly insect that flits around our homes in summer. As a larva, it is a grey grub (also known as a 'leatherjacket') that lives underground, feeding on plants stems and roots. This habit makes it an unpopular species with gardeners as it can leave bare patches of lawn and can also become an agricultural pest. The adults are on the wing during the late summer and are common in gardens and fields, often coming indoors. They rarely feed at this time, concentrating on mating and laying their eggs among the grass. (The Wildlife Trust).

my daddy passed away yesterday
January 04, 2010 at around 1am.
January 03:
daddy only had a few hours of sleep
the other night
he only fell asleep later that afternoon
so i decided not to disturb him.
it was around 9pm
i heard him calling my name
i went to him and told him
"dy, hahanda ko lang yung pagkain nyo ah."
he had about 2 tablespoons of rice
some slices of peaches
which is his favorite,
gelatine and glucerna.
dinner and meds is done.
he told me
that he wants to lie down
but all of a sudden
he holds my hands so tight,
his eyes rolling and
telling me that he can't breathe,
i told my mother that we have to rush daddy
to the hospital.
we're inside the car
i was beside him holding his hand
when he told me to get close to him
he just look at me straight in the eye
without saying anything.
we're almost near the hospital
when i saw him drew his last breath
i was trembling.
he was in ER
i pray and ask God:
"Dyos ko, ito na ba to?
ito na ba yun?
kukunin mo na ba daddy ko sa'min?
then tears stream down my face.
the doctor came to me
and she told me
that they're doing they're best
to revive my father.
how am i going to tell my mother?
i dunno how will she accept it
i told my self.
and the doctor told me:
"nag-flat line na daddy mo"
i went to my father
with the doctors and the nurses around him
and with all those apparatus
trying to revive him.
i saw daddy with tears in his eyes
i close his eyes
i felt a different kind of pain
that's hard to explain
i whisper to him
"daddy, i love you so much
i'll take care of mommy yo and kobe.
sorry coz
i'm not a good daughter to you
we all love you daddy.
kiss ate and diko for me.
i love you daddy
ba-bye daddy"
i kiss him
and then i hug him really really tight.
i will never ever forget his face
that very moment.

I haven't posted anything on my backyard Eastern Bluebirds in months. They haven't been around much since they hatched their second brood in Summer. Recently they are in the yard more, staking out the rights to their nestbox. I put out some dried mealworms in their feeder and they immediately came to me. Our beautiful world, pass it on.
Dad always would stand straight and look to the no where and he would fold his hands as he did here for the very last time.
This photo was darker and noisy as it was becoming dusk and I was losing light fast. So I put it in Topaz so I could make a decent photo out of it. I love his mustache.
When the world seems about to end...a little hug from a parent usually puts things back to rights.

portrait of my father i took with soviet Zenit camera in granny's garden in 1995.
it's also printed onto old soviet photo paper using ages ago expired soviet photo chemicals (since at the time there was nothing else to use), hence the genuine aging brown shades here and there, which i really like. these appeared about 10 years after it was printed (intially it was pure black and white), so i guess some more changes within time will appear.
