Kananga, Kasaï Central : At the initiative of MONUSCO Police, an awareness-raising session was organised for 30 vulnerable children from Kananga, commonly known as street children, on their role in the protection against the COVID-19. “We are very satisfied with this gesture. UNPol has brought us some handwashing devices and reviewed the barrier measures. Bunia, Itui province, DR Congo - The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, was in Bunia, Ituri Province on the 23 and 24 January 2020. She visited displaced persons accommodated at the site of the Higher Pedagogical Institute (ISP) in Bunia, as well as victims of torture and sexual violence at SOFEPADI a center of rehabilitation for victims of sexual violence and torture. She also met with officials of MONUSCO, Government and leadership of opposing factions in the ongoing conflict in the Province. She was moved by the situation of the displaced persons and victims of sexual violence whom she met and promised to convey to the United Nations Security Council and to the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, their concerns as well as their hopes of seeing sustainable peace return to Djugu territory.

Kalehe, South Kivu, DRC: The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General in the DRC Bintou Keita was in Kalehe in South Kivu on 18 May 2023,where a natural disaster claimed the lives of several people on 4 May 2023. She was accompanied by the MONUSCO Police commissioner, the Head of office of MONUSCO in South Kivu as well as senior leadership of other UN agencies in the DRC. Bunia, Ituri Province, DR Congo: The Office of Strategic Communications and Public Information of MONUSCO, in collaboration with the Ituri branch of the National Union of the Press of Congo (UNPC), on Thursday, May 3, 2018, celebrated the International Press Freedom Day with the theme "Media, Justice and the Rule of Law: The Counterbalance of Power". Through a joint-program, USAID and UKAID provided learning materials to students to improve basic education equitable access to quality education in the DRC with education programming that benefitted over 450,000 female students in formal and non-formal primary schools across eight provinces.
In FY 2017, over 80,000 female students received school kits, which included a string backpack, notebooks, black and colored pencils, and erasers, or other material support to promote access to basic education.

Kalonge,South Kivu Province,DRC: The civil Affairs section of MONUSCO Bukavu led a Joint Assessment Mission to Kalonge groupment in South Kivu from the 18-20 April 2023. The team was composed of UNJHRO, UNPOL, DDRRR, and accompanied by national partners from the P-DDRCS and the ministry of interior in South Kivu.The mission was a result of increasing reports from civil society and the community alert network focal points of Kalonge and Bitale commercial center about recurrent incursions by armed groups committing several human rights violations and various PoC threats against the civilian population. The United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) launched this Wednesday, November 6 in Kinshasa, a new operating system called "Client Service Delivery Model" (CSDM) ".
CSDM is a client service delivery system designed to facilitate the delivery of services relating to human resources, travels and finance. It was rolled out during MONUSCO general staff meeting held in Kinshasa, in the presence of Paulin Djomo, Head of the Regional Service Center (RSCE), based in Entebbe, Uganda, and of MONUSCO Leadership. National, international staff and uniformed personnel have shown a keen interest in the new Service.
The initiative aims to provide customized assistance to staff members in resolving issues to be brought to the attention of the Human Resources. To help the staff familiarize with the new System, 2-day walk-in sessions are being held from 6 to 7 November at Utex Africa, Kinshasa, where MONUSCO administrative offices are located.
The sessions are aimed to give the opportunity to civilian and military personnel to raise with the Regional Services Center-Entebbe all specific matters pertaining to Human Resources, Travels, Education Allowance, and Finance. Photo MONUSCO/John Bonpengo

Halungupa, Nord-Kivu, RDC : La population se sent plus en sécurité et à l’aise lorsqu'elle reçoit la visite d’une patrouille de la MONUSCO. Ici dans la zone éloignée de Halungupa dans la province du Nord-Kivu, le 20 juin 2020, les Casques bleus tanzaniens de la Brigade d'intervention de la MONUSCO ont effectué, conjointement avec les FARDC, une patrouille de domination de zone et ont interagi avec les habitants . Fataki, Ituri, DRC: The "Charlie Combat Team’s" peacekeepers, a sub-unit of Uruguayan peacekeepers based in Fataki, Ituri province, are resolutely committed to protecting civilians in this area. On 5 August 2020,the commander of this 103-strong unit was awarded a Commendation Coin by the Head of MONUSCO office in Bunia Josiah Obat and the Force’s Northern Sector Commander General Abu M. Ali. Kalehe, South Kivu, DRC: The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General in the DRC Bintou Keita was in Kalehe in South Kivu on 18 May 2023,where a natural disaster claimed the lives of several people on 4 May 2023. She was accompanied by the MONUSCO Police commissioner, the Head of office of MONUSCO in South Kivu as well as senior leadership of other UN agencies in the DRC. Beni, North Kivu Province: The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General in the DRC, Leila Zerrougui has paid a day’s working visit to Beni. She held discussions with the acting Mayor and the command of the FARDC (Operation Sokola 1). She also met with various groupings including civil society and elected representatives of Beni. Discussions centered on the ongoing efforts to flash out armed groups especially the ADF and MONUSCO’S mandate of protecting the civilian population of Beni and its environs. Territoire de Djugu, Ituri, RDC : Les patrouilles pédestres, moyen efficace de protection des civils et de dissuasion des groupes armés, permettent également de recueillir des informations sécuritaires importantes. Sur cette photo, des casques bleus guatémaltèques en mission spéciale du 17 au 19 juin 2020 dans les localités de Soleniama, Muhito et Limani en Ituri où les miliciens commettent des atrocités contre les populations. In this photo, Guatemalan peacekeepers on a special mission to Soleniama, Muhito and Limani districts in Ituri, from 17 to 19 June 2020, where militiamen have been perpetrating atrocities against the population.
