Butembo,Nord Kivu RDC: 04 Juin 2018. Pose de la première pierre, par le maire adjoint de Butembo, des travaux de réhabilitation du marché de Rughenda en commune Bulengera, ville de Butembo. Ce projet est initié par la Section DDRRR. Il s’agit d’un projet de Réduction de la Violence Communautaire (CVR). C’est ainsi que 74 ex-combattants venus des centres de Kitona et de Kamina ainsi que 26 jeunes dits à risque de Butembo, c’est-à-dire désœuvrés, vont participer aux travaux de réhabilitation de ce marché, une manière de préparer leur réinsertion dans la vie active. Kalemie, RD Congo : La Section de la protection de l’enfant de la MONUSCO, en collaboration avec la Division des affaires sociales du Tanganyika, a organisé le 19 décembre 2018 une sensibilisation sur la problématique de la protection de l’enfant en période électorale, à l’intention d’une trentaine d’acteurs de la protection de l'enfance dont quatre femmes. L’atelier avait pour objectif de susciter une prise de conscience et la contribution des participants à la protection des enfants en empêchant leur participation au processus électoral. Kalonge,South Kivu Province,DRC: The civil Affairs section of MONUSCO Bukavu led a Joint Assessment Mission to Kalonge groupment in South Kivu from the 18-20 April 2023. The team was composed of UNJHRO, UNPOL, DDRRR, and accompanied by national partners from the P-DDRCS and the ministry of interior in South Kivu.The mission was a result of increasing reports from civil society and the community alert network focal points of Kalonge and Bitale commercial center about recurrent incursions by armed groups committing several human rights violations and various PoC threats against the civilian population. MONUSCO helicopters carried out reconnaissance flights over the crater and brought in specialists to monitor and advice on the state of the volcano after the eruption.

MONUSCO has remained actively engaged alongside the Congolese population and authorities to deal with this situation. Its civil and military engineering team reopened the Goma-Rutshuru-Butembo road section, which is vital for the supply of food to the population of Goma

Peacekeepers in Goma also provided healthcare, distributing food and water to some displaced persons. MONUSCO has also remained present and continues to hold its positions in the city. Its Indian peacekeepers are patrolling 24/7 on the different routes to monitor and prevent theft-related incidents and lootings in abandoned areas.MONUSCO peacekeepers from China are working to improve traffic on the national road n° 2, between Goma, in North-Kivu, and Bukavu, in South-Kivu. making it possible for thousands of vehicles to reach Bukavu and seek refuge against the latest natural disaster which hit the city of Goma.

  

Kabanda, Nord-Kivu, RD Congo - Les casques indiens de la MONUSCO, basés à Ruindi, ont effectué une mission à longue portée à Kabanda avec pour but de protéger les villages reculés de Kabanda, Nyabiondo, Kibrizi, Kanuno, Kibingu et Kirima, face à l'activisme actuel des groupes armés. Sur le terrain, ils ont rencontré les responsables de la sécurité, les différentes parties prenantes et les notables des villages, pour partager les informations et évaluer la situation sécuritaire actuelle à Kabanda et ses environs. Kabanda, North Kivu, DR Congo - MONUSCO Indian peacekeepers, based in Ruindi, conducted a long-range mission to Kabanda with the aim of protecting the remote villages of Kabanda, Nyabiondo, Kibrizi, Kanuno, Kibingu and Kirima from the current activism of armed groups. In the field, they met with security officials, various stakeholders and village leaders to share information and assess the current security situation in Kabanda and its surroundings. She held discussions with the acting Mayor and the command of the FARDC (Operation Sokola 1). She also met with various groupings including civil society and elected representatives of Beni. Discussions centered on the ongoing efforts to flash out armed groups especially the ADF and MONUSCO’S mandate of protecting the civilian population of Beni and its environs. Uvira, Sud-Kivu, RDC - Dans le cadre de son programme de Réduction des violences communautaires (CVR), la MONUSCO a initié un projet d’encadrement de 150 démobilisés, jeunes à risque et femmes vulnérables dans la commune de Kavimvira en territoire d’Uvira, par l’élevage de poissons et diverses formations sur la cohésion sociale et la cohabitation pacifique. DRC, Goma, North Kivu: After an agreement between MONUSCO and the French Institute, 40 non-francophone agents of the Mission have received intensive training in French since 2 October 2017. The Deputy Special Representative, David Gressly, announced MONUSCO's commitment to strengthening this partnership for the promotion of peace and social cohesion in the DRC. Beni, North Kivu Province: The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General in the DRC, Leila Zerrougui has paid a day’s working visit to Beni. She held discussions with the acting Mayor and the command of the FARDC (Operation Sokola 1). She also met with various groupings including civil society and elected representatives of Beni. Discussions centered on the ongoing efforts to flash out armed groups especially the ADF and MONUSCO’S mandate of protecting the civilian population of Beni and its environs. Aoua Barkire de la Police MONUSCO sensibilise une vendeuse d’aliments de rue sur les bonnes pratiques d’hygiène dans la préparation et la vente de nourriture au quartier RVA dans la Commune de KANZALA à Tshikapa. « Avec ces informations, j’ai eu la connaissance de base sur les causes de la contamination des aliments non protégés et des dangers potentiels encourus par les consommateurs. Tshikapa, Kasaï, DRC: MONUSCO remains committed alongside the Congolese people in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Aoua Barkire, MONUSCO Police member, is educating a street food saleswoman about the good hygiene practices to observe while preparing and selling food in the RVA district, municipality of KANZALA in Tshikapa. "With the information received, I have gained basic knowledge of the causes of contamination from unprotected food and the potential dangers faced by consumers.
