My hair is naturally curly, but I never knew how to manage it. I have been blow-drying it straight for the past 4 years. I've always hated my curls. But now I am trying to embrace them.

Curly is my Dad's brother, his real name is Marion.
I actually have his seperation qualification record from the Army. It says he worked in the medical office keeping records for patients and handled emergency calls, among other similar duties.

Harts tongue ferns are tightly curled when they first start growing, gradually unfurlng. This one has a visiting slug.
While looping around pond #2 and about to head to the parking, I looked down and saw this small but curious patch of grass and it reminded me immediately of that eleven-year-old who has comb issues. Hair starting in every different direction. These colors presented a warning that autumn days are winding down to a very few and the grasses will be turning to straw instead of hay. I am sorry for those who don't think this is enough for a snap; maybe I'm just simple? Maybe it's those three fajitas that slowed me to a mellow state after dinner! Today, this is my slice of fall. Lately, I have been sneaking out to Golden Ponds, the Longmont, Boulder County greenbelt and rec. area waiting for the sunset shots to come around. Today, I wanted to look for new possible locations because autumn is marching on and we may have it end within the week. I wandered and dragged myself around the green space and took the detail shots I found available, Several people were attempting to do some casual shoreline fishing in the the ponds hoping to catch a bass while lounging about. There is a name for that, I think. They have to stock these gravel pits after the "overburden" topsoil is stripped or we would have a mosquito and West Nile outbreak. Industry has determined it's their right to strip and our burden to tax ourselves (not them) to patch. That better end forth with! We're running out of taxable lands in Boulder County. I wonder, do they tax holes? And at what rate?

A Photo a Day - September 11, 2010.
It was Erin's birthday today and Laura, the kids, and I went to see Cirque du Soleil: OVO at National Harbor. As always, it was a great show. Afterwards, we stopped at the Silver Diner for dinner. Unfortunately, the kids started acting up so we nixed the banana split idea. Bummer. I was going to enjoy that too.....lactose intolerance be damned!
