Carter had a bath today and is extra curly, until tomorrow when I have to brush out those beautiful ringlets!

I got the two blondies used and nude. They came all nakie, so I had to get them some clothes! Got this 3-pack of dresses for ten bucks so that was pretty good :) Now they just need names! I'm thinking Emma for the curly haired one and Olive for the straighter hair.

Going to start saving money from now on. My dolly family has grown far too large. 3 Blythes, a Middie, 3 LPS blythes, 2 Kelly/Chelsea dolls (for Middie shoes) and the 2 Little Ones from the dollar store. I can't afford them all!

St Michael, Whitwell, Rutland

Whitwell is a familiar moment on the busy Stamford to Oakham road, the sign proclaiming that it is twinned with Paris followed by a few stone houses and the pub, and then Whitwell is gone. If you had happened to glance up to the south of the road for a second, you might have noticed a small stone church, mostly of the 13th and 14th Centuries, seemingly inaccessible above you. In fact, the road that leads down to Rutland Water takes you behind the church, and a small dead-end lane runs up to the south-west corner of the small churchyard.

There never was a tower, and Pevsner thought the little bellcote was probably the oldest in the county. You step into what at first can seem a dark and gloomy space on a day in late autumn, thanks to the stained glass in the windows, but this quickly reveals itself to be an outstanding collection of good 19th Century work by the Lavers, Barraud & Westlake studio, the most extensive collection of their glass that I know of.

The church was restored along Tractarian principles in the 19th Century, and enough survives to give a feel of the High Church worship of the day. Much older, though, is a small 14th Century crucifixion set in the upper light of one of the 19th Century windows, possibly a survival of the chancel when it was first built, an extraordinary thought.

This is one if my friends. He lives in my garden and is usually waiting for me on the driveway as I feed him a bit. If I sit down he comes near me and is very friendly. This is my 1st attempt as some photoshop work. He was really sitting on cement when I took the pic and eating a cookie not a fly. We didn't have these here when I was young they migrated from the Bahamas

Now a bit of the curly, because you know what this does to your Mai ;) ♥♥♥X

Oh how I love those curls!

She's a grand old curly willow, and when I tilt my head up to look at the sky through her branches, I am entranced.

Curly plywood shelf made by me using our wall paper stripper to bend the ply. I couldn't afford A Ron Arad bookworm at the time. I have since acquired a lovely Rita shelf but the curly ply stays!

To my surprise they tasted delicious.
