With a new crew on board, BNSF 4051 begins it's journey down the UP Canyon Subdivision towards Stockton. The train is crossing the famous Keddie Wye Trestle.
Exposed five times. Twice at crossing, once with rose garden, yellow flowers (which I don't know the name) and finally fig marigold. Chose cloudy day for shooting flowers to avoid over-exposure. One of multiples in our ordinary lives

I always liked this former SOO bridge crossing the Escanaba River just downstream from the paper mill at North Escanaba. WC train LO-38 strides out onto the bridge on October 18, 1993 with 6548 and 4326. Only a couple of the ex FRVR geeps received the WC herald after the takeover, 4326 being one of them.
The conductor of NICTD train 606 gets off to set some flares and check traffic at Vail st. crossing before his train continues west. These and a few other nearby crossing were not working, making for a slow start for passengers traveling into Chicago.

Just outside of Cantwell is the Jack River, really not much more than a stream at this point but cross they must.
We walked across London's Millennium Bridge as part of our Harry Potter's London tour conducted by Tours by Foot.
Tours by Foot is a great company that hosts pay-what-you-wish tours in cities all around the world. We've gone on many different tours with this company in our travels but, unfortunately, our experience with them in London was less than stellar.
Our tour guide kept up a very brisk pace and everyone was nearly running to keep up with her. Photography was nearly impossible at this breakneck speed but I did manage to grab this shot as we started walking across Millennium Bridge. I'm not sure why we were being hustled through everything so quickly, but most people didn't seem to be enjoying that fast pace very much.
This was our first less than positive experience with Tours by Foot so don't let this deter you from trying their fun and informative tours in other cities. If you book a tour with them in London, be sure to bring a good pair of running shoes!

The Crossing. In the 19th century the lonely strangers and fur traders used this spot to cross the North Saskatchewan River on their way to British Columbia.
And like years ago, this place is the only one spot between Lake Louise and Jasper that offers shelter, gas and guest services. But like years ago it is closed in winter.
The Revenant movie with DiCaprio was shot in this region.

On a glorious day, former-GWR '5100-Class' No. 5164 drifts down Eardington Bank and passes Crossing Cottage while working a Bridgnorth - Kidderminster Town service on 6th May 2013. The Cape Cod Central Railroad dinner train has just departed Buzzards Bay station at MP 54.7 on the MassDOT owned and Mass Coastal operated Cape Mainline and is crossing the Cape Cod Canal. At Canal Junction on the south side of the bridge they will meet the MC-2 Energy Train holding on the main while they diverge onto the Falmouth Line.
Bracketing the north end of the five car train is FL9 2026 which is no stranger to these rails having been blt. Sept. 1957 as New Haven 2007 while on the south end is three year younger sister 2011 blt. Sep. 1960 as NH 2038.
As for the bridge, it was constructed during the depths of the depression by the Public Works Administration. At the time of its completion in December 1935 its 544 ft vertical lift span was the longest such in the world. Supported by a pair of 271 ft towers, when the span is fully raised it provides 135 ft of clearance for vessels passing beneath.

Probably the scenic highlight of this 14 mile line is this crossing of a Cattaraugus Creek which is literally a stones throw from A&A World Headquarters.

You could say this doesn't qualify as "street photography" and I would say that I really don't care. I enjoy shooting these photos and that's all that matters, really.

A long exposure taken from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge - Tunnel. Didn't spend to much time on the bridge due to the freezing wind. Pretty much grabbed a few shots of the fishing pier before we turned into icicles.
