'Journey' is a way for us to explore the crossing, the intersection of our lives between each other
[Jenova Chen]
Sunset and evening star
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,
But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.
Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;
For though from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.

Sporting a pair of bib overalls (as the good Lord intended), the conductor working the YPV51 keeps an eye on busy Geneva Road as UP 3260 pulls covered hoppers from Coastal Chemical in Lindon, Utah on March 26, 1990.

Shot with the Olympus E-5 just outside the east portal of the Hoosac Tunnel in the Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts, USA. Just ahead one can make out a bridge crossing the river and the accompanying railroad signals.
A photo I had long wanted to capture. I had been here one time before and the weather was marginal at best. After not running the previous day, see previous post for more details, the train to Plummer departed extremely early the next day allowing us to get a shot westbound across the lake as well as an eastbound shot. In most cases the eastbound is coming back across the lake in much more difficult lighting conditions. However as a result of their early departure from St Maries they were still we lit on their return trip. A bonus for sure.
Stone bridge, constructed in 1674, at Corbridge, Northumberland.
The (original) bridge at Corbridge was built in 1235. Described in 1306 as the only bridge between Newcastle and Carlisle, it was maintained also as a link between England and Scotland. In 1674 it was replaced by the seven-arched bridge we see today. So well did the builder of this bridge execute his contract that his was the only one on the Tyne to withstand the famous flood of 1771. [Wikipedia]

Tilikum Crossing, Bridge of the People is a cable-stayed bridge across the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon.
Taken in-between the MAX Orange Line light rail passenger train.
Thank you for your warm visits. Happy trails to you ;-)
One of the three Union Pacific bridges across the Mississippi River in the Twin Cities, Bridge 15 has a unique swing bridge design with a large concrete counterweight instead of the more typical design of the bridge balancing itself. UP's MSSDM is seen crossing the former Milwaukee Road bridge behind a reasonably clean AC45CTE, heading west on the Mankato Sub.
