Other names' Adder's Tongue, Fawn Lily. They appear in April and May. Flowers grow 6 to 8 inches tall. We found this one on the side of a hill at Radnor Lake in Nashville,Tennessee while hiking. A great find for us!!

A native of Scotland, William J. Bryce (1861-1944) moved to Fort Worth in 1883 and developed a successful brick contracting business. In 1893 he constructed this house. The mayor of Fort Worth from 1927 to 1933, Bryce lived here until his death. One of the rare examples of a chateauesque dwelling in Texas, Fairview features Richardsonian arches and Gabled Dormers.
I don't know why, but I keep returning to this shot from my archives. Maybe its the color or maybe its the pose but I took this shot in the early evening of this past fall when the sunlight was low and I liked the result. I hope you like it too
An old photo, I keep going back and "playing with"
I have been having problems with photos missing from the "my contacts" page, so if I have missed commenting on your posts, I am sorry. It seems I am not the only one having this problem. There is a thread here along with a script for firefox users that goes some way to help with this problem.
These four shots were taken last fall at a creek near our downtown. They are super close-ups, "freezing" the motion of the water with the rocks beneath. I have intensified the contrast and color saturation to varying degrees. I am endlessly fascinated with the patterns that water makes, the interaction of sun and water and what lies beneath.
