This is a photograph from the Rathfarnham 5KM Road Race and Fun Run which took place in Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin, Ireland on Sunday 28th September 2013 at 10:00. This is one of the most popular runs in South County Dublin and is held in support of St. Luke's Cancer Hospital, Rathgar. This year's race attracted over 1,300 participants and the run is open to runners, joggers and walkers. The course is one of the fastest 5ks in the country with a downhill start and finish. This is an excellently organised race with marhsalling at every junction and Garda enforced road closures for the duration of the race. This race was held on a beautiful autumn morning. There was little or no breeze and there was mild temperatures of around 15C for the race.

The race starts at the easterly side of the N81 Tempelogue Road and Springfield Avenue. The start area is shown here on Google StreetView (goo.gl/maps/kg7FY). The race follows Springfield Avenue along the side of Bushy Park. The race overlaps the final kilometer and the finish as it proceeds to the Rathfarnham Road (Shown here Google Streetview goo.gl/maps/gRrI6). The route heads north on Rathfarnham road as there is a very gentle incline until the junction with the Temleogue Road is reached and runners make a sharp left turn onto the N81 (shown here Google StreetView goo.gl/maps/51S2t). The race then heads south along Templeogue Road where the runners can see the course unfold straight infront of them. The race turns left at Springfield Avenue again (start area) and the final Kilometer is as the first to the finish area (Google Streetview goo.gl/maps/1R08S) just before the Rathfarnham Road Junction. Overall this course is a flat and fast course. There is a net gain of 15M over the whole course with slightly downhill gradients at the start and towards the finish. The course is completely left-handed which makes for favourable conditions. All being equal the course provides an excellent opportunity for every from elite competitors to joggers to set a fast time for themselves.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. A cut of Kobe beef glazed with a sticky paprika taffy and studded with roasted squash seeds. Underneath, a milky yogurt sauce with miniature squash seeds. Roasted squash dusted with smoked paprika; fried bell pepper sliver; fried shiitake; and fresh oregano. Sauced with Kobe jus.
Taste: Very good. I'm a huge squash fan. The roasted seeds were wonderful - but the true centerpiece was the smoky, yet candy sweet paprika taffy. This whole dish WORKED. Meaty, squashy, roasty, smoky, tangy and sweet... a variably complex, yet delightfully successful dish. Along with the Yuba and Duck, this was a winner.

Kumbhalgarh is a Mewar fortress in the Rajsamand District of Rajasthan state in western India. Built during the course of the 15th century by Rana Kumbha, and enlarged through the 19th century, Kumbhalgarh is also the birthplace of Maharana Pratap, the great king and warrior of Mewar. Occupied until the late 19th century, the fort is now open to the public and is spectacularly lit for a few minutes each evening. Kumbalgarh is situated 82 km northwest of Udaipur by road. It is the most important fort in Mewar after Chittaurgarh.
The Kumbhalgarh was built and ruled by Kumbha and his dynasty who were Sisodia descendents.
Kumbhalgarh in its present form was developed by, and said to be personally designed by Rana Kumbha. Rana Kumbha's kingdom of Mewar stretched from Ranthambore to Gwalior and included large tracts of erstwhile Madhya Pradesh as well as Rajasthan. Out of the 84 forts in his dominion, Rana Kumbha is said to have designed 32 of them, of which Kumbhalgarh is the largest and most elaborate.
Kumbhalgarh also separated Mewar and Marwar from each other and was used as a place of refuge for the rulers of Mewar at times of danger. A notable instance was in the case of Prince Udai, the infant king of Mewar who was smuggled here in 1535, when Chittaur was under siege. Prince Udai who later succeeded to the throne was also the founder of the Udaipur City. The fort remained impregnable to direct assault, and fell only once, due to a shortage of drinking water, to the combined forces of Mughal Emperor Akbar, Raja Man Singh of Amber, Raja Udai Singh of Marwar, and the Sultan of Gujarat.
A palate cleansing meal closer that “tastes like Christmas” with spruce ice cream, meringue, a log of cashew-chocolate ganache, apricot puree then showered with brown butter powder and tender fresh spruce needles.
A new course on pilgrimage to the Holy Land has been launched. The course is entitled 'Pilgrimage' and has been written by the Revd Ken Rue, Chairman of the Dublin and Glendalough Council for Mission and Assistant Priest in Wicklow and Killiskey. Archbishop Michael Jackson and Archbishop Diarmuid Martin have both endorsed the course and written and signed the preface.

Our first post-lockdown excursion, and our first restaurant meal since 31 October 2020. We lunched by the sea, at Markopoulos, near Oropos, about an hour away from our home in Athens.
Our main course was a grilled an butterflied Fagri (Red Porgy or Common Sea Bream), accompanied of course, by a dressing of lemon juice and olive oil.
Not one for golf photos, but there was a golf course attached to the hotel we stayed in, in the Seychelles and I had to pass through it on my way back from shooting the sunset, and the colour in the sky was still outstanding.
