This migrant seemed to be all alone except it was hanging out with a black-necked stilt. (Also unusual for us, but a little less so.)

An large space of common salt scoured by wind and rain into jagged spires. Therefore improbably saw-toothed that "only the devil may play golf on such rough links. Listen rigorously and you will hear feels like small pops and pings - the sound is virtually billions of small salt crystals detonating apart as they expand and accept the warmth.

While walking along the beach to reach the far end I noticed these people were taking part photography course. I thought it'd be fun to capture them!

One of the main grandstands at the Goodwood horse racing circuit.

One of the classic views on the ECML, just over the border into Scotland. I had not actually been to this spot before, which was around a mile hike from where the taxi dropped me off. Unfortunately a bank of thick high cloud had moved in from the west as I made my way here and this was the only train I actually got in full crisp sun while here as it coincided with a short break in the cloud. Of course it had largely melted away by the time I had got back to Berwick! A couple of small trees close to the tracks by the 3rd and 4th coaches will become a serious problem soon if not removed...

Of course a red barn will stand out in late autumn when most of the colours are quite muted. This is a pretty modern farming operation with many silos and often the harvesting is contracted to custom operators. Quite often the corn crops are not harvested until the fields are frozen to allow better access to the fields!

Oh, and the actual shutter speed was 1/800, with a +2/3 bias:)

Not completely accidental, I was aware of the moon's position and tried to focus on / frame any birds passing in front of it (which is easier said than done!).

Fly me to the moon

Let me play among the stars

Let me see what spring is like

On a, Jupiter and Mars

Well Jupiter is a gas planet with no hard surface and extremely cold and whilst Mars may be almost habitable in the day - it is also very cold at night. Neither of course have a breathable atmosphere. So maybe see what spring is like in Boca Rotan instead.

I'm not sure if 'Baa' meant 'Hello, nice to see you !' or 'oh no, paparazzi !'. The sheep in this photo is a white horned heath. I went to their pasture this morning to see their lambs of which I took photos too, of course. It was nice to point my camera at some non-feline animals again during a time when all zoos and wildlife parks are closed.

of course i missed SL!! So it's good to be back. And perfect way to celebrate this is to go out and party with mah friends. Everyone bum wiggling haha. Love you all! ((amazing picture by Gaudrik again))

View of a golf course with a geyzer in the background

A geyser (US pronunciation: /ˈɡaɪzər/; UK /ˈɡiːzə/ or /ˈɡaɪzə/ is a spring characterized by intermittent discharge of water ejected turbulently and accompanied by steam.

The formation of geysers is due to particular hydrogeological conditions, which exist in only a few places on Earth, so they are a fairly rare phenomenon. Generally all geyser field sites are located near active volcanic areas, and the geyser effect is due to the proximity of magma. Generally, surface water works its way down to an average depth of around 2,000 metres (6,600 ft) where it contacts hot rocks. The resultant boiling of the pressurized water results in the geyser effect of hot water and steam spraying out of the geyser's surface vent (a hydrothermal explosion).

Over one thousand known geysers exist worldwide. At least 1,283 geysers have erupted in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, United States, and an average of 465 geysers are active there in a given year. A geyser's eruptive activity may change or cease due to ongoing mineral deposition within the geyser plumbing, exchange of functions with nearby hot springs, earthquake influences, and human intervention.

Jet-like eruptions, often referred to as cryogeysers, have been observed on several of the moons of the outer solar system. Due to the low ambient pressures, these eruptions consist of vapor without liquid; they are made more easily visible by particles of dust and ice carried aloft by the gas. Water vapor jets have been observed near the south pole of Saturn's moon Enceladus, while nitrogen eruptions have been observed on Neptune's moon Triton. There are also signs of carbon dioxide eruptions from the southern polar ice cap of Mars. In the latter two cases, instead of being driven by geothermal energy, the eruptions seem to rely on solar heating via a solid-state greenhouse effect.pronunciation: /ˈɡaɪzər/; UK /ˈɡiːzə/ or /ˈɡaɪzə/ is a spring characterized by intermittent discharge of water ejected turbulently and accompanied by steam.

"Chilled Asparagus with Egg, Red Pepper and Oil and Vinegar"

Perfect for a brunch, or as a substitute for a salad at a dinner party. Makes a great and light first course. Very nice in summer when the weather is hot.

View in Large Size

Put about 2-3 inches of water in a pot and bring to a boil. Trim the ends from the asparagus and place in the boiling water. Watch closely as you only want them to cook for a few minutes. Remove the asparagus, run under cold water to stop the cooking process and lay out in a single layer on a plate and place in the refrigerator to cool.

Boil eggs, and peel and chop. Take one red bell pepper and cut into strips for garnish.

Either make a dressing with olive oil, red wine vinegar, dijon mustard and a pinch of salt, or as I do at home, use Paul Neumans Olive Oil and Vinegar dressing. This stuff is excellent! Just do not refrigerate the open bottle. If you want, add a bit of dijon mustard to the Paul Neumans and whisk. Adds another layer of flavor to the dish.

Arrange asparagus on each plate, drizzle the dressing over the asparagus, top with chopped egg, and garnish with the red bell pepper.

This dish can be plated and kept in the frig until service or left at room temp for 1/2 hour before serving.

I took this on the Garage Studios, Holga & Diana Camera Workshop. Had fun and learnt loads about how a Holga works (never used one before). The course was taught by the brownhorse. Highly recommend signing up for the next one, or any of their courses. Learn loads and have fun with a camera – what more can you ask for, really?
