The eight finalists for a simulated Mars mission met at Martha Van Rensselaer Hall, home of another of the study's leaders to take cooking lessons from hotel school chef Rupert Spies, pictured here, and other tests of their "nasal patency," or smell, with Jean Hunter, a professor of biological and environmental engineering, and Bruce Halpern, professor of neurobiology and behavior.
