Santa made a stop at the Bascom Library to bring holiday cheer to many families! Along with photos, there were refreshments, crafts and face painting. As an added treat, two of the local elementary schools, Sherman Oaks and Lynhaven, performed holiday songs for all.
Do you have a book that’s so old but you turn to every now and then, this book is one of them. I bought Mrs. Fields Best Cookie Book Ever!: 130 Delicious Cookie and Dessert Recipes from the Kitchen of Mrs. Fields a long time ago (her cookies make me want to bake, I really want to make cookies, that’s delicious as her, because at that time Mrs. Fields’ Cookie was very popular, oops! now all of you can doubt my age), but I still use it often as the recipe is easy and the cookie are delicious . I like the taste of this cookie but I reduce the sugar to the lowest that the cookie’s still enjoyable, I have to accept that as we get older, we need less sugar (or if you are younger than me you can write a comment to ask for an original recipe). The cookie taste like a little banana cake with a lot of chocolate and nut, you can use chopped dark chocolate instead of normal chocolate chip which will make your cookie more sophisticated and yummy. I think you know the rule of using banana, don’t use the one that still bright yellow, we need a little darken here.

My mother in law and I make cookies at Christmas!
This year we tried these, a wafer type with colorized icing. They weren't so great. Maybe the cookies are under cooked, the icing was a little funny too.
I'm going to cook these up this year somet ime if I don't forget, test out a few alternatives. They were very plain, tasted like diet cookies but they weren't sugar free.
They look nice in the bowl though.
During PBS’ Cookie Monster lunch at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour in Los Angeles, CA on Monday, August 5, 2013, critics and staff posed with the furry monster to celebrate his new segment, premiering in SESAME STREET’s 44th season, which begins September 16th.

I had these cookies at my friend Japanese friendi's house.
This cookie has an embossed image of Japanese Tea Set- Macha. The left is the bowl used to mix the tea, the right is the bamboo stirrer.
I was told the picture on the cookie is what the filling between the two cookies is made out of. It's like a sandwich cookie- what you see here is on the top and bottom with a filling in the middle.

Jess and I baked cookies at her house Sunday afternoon. We listened to Christmas music (Charlie Brown Christmas and Sufjan Stevens Christmas albums HARK!) and rolled a zillion balls of cookie dough.
We made snickerdoodles, chocolate chip oatmeal cookies and peanut butter cookies with hershey kisses on top. yum! Now I'm giving away cookies to everyone I know. One girl only needs so many cookies.
I used my Re-ment cookie cutter to make these cookies. More Cookie the better. ^_^
There not done yet. I waiting for the clay to become "rubber" to add more colors
Ever looked at a cute girl and thought, "She's yummy enough to eat"? Well, now you can. Yes, these are cookies with characters printed on them. Not only were some version of this available in many stores, they were often stacked high right at the front door. So even if you don't have time to shop, you can always get a bite of your favorite girl. Hmmm.
Oh, and sorry for the blur. Took four shots of this, and without a flash none of them came out very well. Covert photography can be tough.
This is the second decorated cookie that I've made.
My husband goes to a little sports pub, where he has made several friends, to watch his football team on Sundays. For the final game before Christmas, he mentioned wanting to bring them all something, so I volunteered to make cookies, and he asked for football cookies.
I can see that I have a lot to learn! When I compare these to some of the beautiful cookies that I see online, they look messy to me. My piping is a lot more jerky and inconsistent than it should be. Also, my lines frequently break. I'll keep at it, though!
Ooey, gooey cookies filled with a mixture of cream cheese and mallow creme.

Our Club, Pittsford Crew, held a Great American Cookie Swap. Pittsford Crew is a not for profit organization that promotes youth rowing throughout the Rochester, New York. Pittsford Crew was delighted to participate in this national event, enjoying the opportunity to come together during the off season. We are delighted that because of our party, service men and women will be the recipient of some homemade treats in the future.
We found ourselves with an abundance of goodies: so much so that we were able to share our surplus with several Nursing Home facilities in the area, as well as delivering to a local Army Reserve Recruitment office. A resounding success, we're already looking forward to repeating this event next year!
Sincerely,
Samantha Barrett

Cookie Monster has always been a favorite character of mine, so I snapped this shot of a street performer somewhere in the city!
