Stunning views of Mt Cooks South Face from the deck of Mueller Hut (1810m). Sometimes known as the highest backpackers in New Zealand, such is its popularity with overseas travellers. Not hard to see why on a day like this!

Directly across the bay was the Captain Cook monument. It stands near the place where Captain James Cook was killed by the locals, over what may have been a misinterpretation of his status as a god. The monument was a 30 minute trip by kayak across the bay, which on two of our four full days there was full of spinner dolphins leaping and twisting out of the water on their tails. (We didn't take the camera out on the water during those kayakings; next time, waterproof digicam for sure.)
I was given a goose egg and some chicken eggs today - the goose egg is massive! (correction, *was* massive).
I took some food pics to try and capture this as I'm probably not going to have another one for quite some time!
