Rare Alvis TD 21 Convertible: only 285 cars were made from this cabriolet Mk2 version.
The body was designed and made by Park Ward. This was an independent coachbuilder (London), active from 1919 to 1961 when it merged with Mulliner.
Alvis had a good reputation for building high quality sportive cars in the 1920s and 1930s. After the war many TD21 and TE21 bodies were made by the Swiss Graber coachworks.
In 1966 Rover obtained the majority of the Alvis shares and production of passenger cars was ceased soon afterwards.

Finding new batches of Matchbox continues to be chronically bad at the moment to the point I actually feel privileged to have found just the one Batch J in ONE ASDA back in September. America is now on L and others such as Australia are even getting M! We all knew giving just one retailer the exclusive rights to sell Matchbox wasn't going to work and after two years thats proved correct despite all their promises!
I was lucky enough to find a full case and so managed to walk away with a few of these newly recoloured 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Convertibles. It blurs the lines a little between the MBX and HW brands in its subject choice but being a product of the former it does at least look like its just rolled out of a Chevrolet showroom. It sits right, it looks right and shines magnificently in this deep metallic blue colour.
Mint and boxed.

The Mercury Eight is a full-size automobile that was the first model produced by Mercury and was produced from the 1939 through the 1951 model years. It was the only model offered by Mercury until the marque starting producing multiple series in the 1952 model year, at which point it was dropped as a model designation.
The first postwar Mercury was introduced in the 1949 model year. The engine was a flathead V8 that produced slightly more power than the then also newly designed 1949 Ford. A new overdrive system was optional, activated by a handle under the dash. The styling of the Mercury Eight, when it was released in 1949, adopted the "ponton" appearance, and was successful in both ending the monotony of warmed-over pre-war style, and differentiating Mercury from its comparable Ford cousin, a trick that spelled sales success. Sales figures for both Ford and Mercury broke records in 1949. The new approach to styling was also evident on the completely redesigned Lincoln and the all new Lincoln Cosmopolitan. The Mercury Eight used full instrumentation. An 8 tube radio as an option.
