So what do you think is inside? I don't know, but I like to think it might be skids of iPads for next weeks Canadian release. Or not.

Containers on eastbound NS train 25A shows some variety of colors and markings as they roll along at Conley Road near New Hope, Ohio, on the New Castle District.
From 2013 to 2015, container ships of Danish shipping company Maersk Line held the title for the largest self-propelled vessels in the world. Since then, no container ship surpassed them in length of 399 meters (1,309 feet), which is limited by regulations of the Suez Canal Authority; but there are ships that can carry more than 20,568 containers. Currently, 31 Triple-E’s serve the trading routes between Europe’s harbors and the East Asia. The name derives of the three principles that guided the design of the ships in this class, economy of scale, energy efficient, and environmentally improved. Thus, it was interesting to design the model as everything is built to serve its rational requirements rather than aesthetic goals; and I tried to reflect the fact, that no component of this type of vessel is unaffected by the mandatory principle of carrying as much cargo as possible within the given constraints.
Length: 399.2 m
Beam: 58.6 m
Draft: 16 m
Height: 73 m
Displacement: 55,000 tonnes
Capacity: 20,568 twenty foot container
Installed power: 84,000 hp (combined)
Max. speed: 25 kn or 46 km/h
Fuel consumption: 80,000 liters/day
On a 25-day-journey from Shanghai to Rotterdam the transportation of one container aboard the fully booked Munich Maersk consumes a total of 97 liters of heavy oil.
The model consists of 1,797 pieces, is built in scale 1:650, measures 60.8 centimeters from bow to stern, and has a capacity of 1,714 standard brick container (unfortunately, the model does not feature a hollow hull to further increase the capacity).
Some thing to do a weekend.. move a container..
I had to move the container to empty and get ready to fill it again.. so I set my camera up to capture shots every 10sec.. probably could have done at 5secs.. for smoother flow..
I had a devil of time in PS to get the resulting file size down.. I take it that quicktime ".mov" files are not that well optimised.. the file was 400Mb.. and took hours to upload.. and then flickr chopped it down.. lol..
I'll have to learn how to apply some sound track.. some benny hill music comes to mind..
For next time.. lol..
I hope you all had a great fathers day with your dad or with your children... it is a special day..
My son took me shopping... lol,, He is my fashion advisor.. but it was good to get out..

Mooring the Ultra Large Container Vessel (ULCV) "CMA CGM Alexander von Humboldt" in RWG Rotterdam World Gate.
The Shipping Crew gives the lines to the mooring men and dockworkers, who fix them at the bollards. The Containership is coming from Hamburg and will go to the far east (China). It can carry up to 16.020 TEU, has a length of 396m and a beam from 53,6m.
ditched the casinos and outlets... spend an afternoon at this nice little park with small eateries, bar, and local independent shops, connected with containers.

Geleen-shuttle

Took my chance and drove to Nijkerk at 1300h to see if the sun was out over there - luck was coming my way as the sun was ;))
HTRS 1619 hauls containertrain 50063 through the 'Bend of Nijkerk' on its way to Maasvlakte West. Nice conditions ;)
