NS stack train 216 has a train load of J.B. Hunt containers as it cruises westbound on the New Castle District.
Container handlers, such as this one, were a once common sight across the galaxy. These rigs would remove boxes from spacecraft and load them onto lorries for the onward journey. They often specialised in carefully moving small containers of high-value goods. A typical example is the one seen here, which is a refrigerated box of minifigure hands, destined for the greebles trade.

It looks like Lake Superior Warehousing has acquired a second-hand container crane that had previously worked at a CN terminal. The rig was busy stacking containers being offloaded from the salty HHL Amur. Duluth Shipping News says the cargo is generators.

For the Ainu people, lacquerware is a precious treasure. It is used when offering alcohol or offerings to kamuy (god) during ceremonies. They were mainly obtained from the Japanese through trade or in return for labor.

IC Deathstar 1003, a SD70, heads a 8700 ft Container Train south along the Waukesha Sub In Ackerville,Wi. while meeting a northbound CN Manifest.
I don't know how to explain this phenomenon, but a container ship out on the North Sea appears to be reflected - and both the ship and the reflection seem to be floating above the horizon. Seen off the Essex coast, taken with a 500mm lens, but this is cropped to show about a quarter of the whole frame. D500_76216.NEF

Maasvlakte 2 is a major civil engineering project in the Netherlands, constructing a new port and supporting infrastructure on reclaimed land adjoining the Maasvlakte. Approximately 2000 hectares will be reclaimed, behind a 4 km dike; approximately 1000 hectares will be used by ports related industries. It is an extension of the Port of Rotterdam.
Maasvlakte 2 is the biggest civil engineering project in the Netherlands since the Delta Works. The area opened on 22 May 2013.
Container terminal operators APM Terminals and Rotterdam World Gateway began construction of their terminals in 2012. The APM terminal opened in April 2015. Rotterdam World Gateway (RWG) is the main competitor for European Container Terminals (ECT), currently the biggest operator of a container terminal in Rotterdam. RWG's terminal includes a 20-meter deep dock and its own railroad station, and would be capable of handling 2.35 million containers annually.

Used to move shipping containers. The points on the boom lock into the the top corners of the containers. This was built to complement set 10219-1 Maersk Train so that the containers can be unloaded from the train to the truck.
Not far from my house is that wonderfully weathered container with patterns that look like a street map, or abstract art.
The container's shine and gloss looks alien to everything else in the shot. No idea how or why it came out this way. Kind of odd but I like it. Reminds me of the monolith in 2001 - A Space Odyssey. Maybe there's a connection..... Kubrick's film featured aerial footage of east Harris's lunar like landscape to represent the surface of Jupiter.
Straight from the camera with only white balance adjustment, a little perspective correction to straighten up the container and a slight crop. No effects, multiple images or computer trickery, honest!
The container sits at the side of the road by Loch Langavat fish farm, Isle of Harris.
