This will be the last of my photos from the Galveston Tall Ship Festival. This is a peek under the bowsprit of the Elissa to show a container ship docked at the Port of Galveston. For 118 pictures in 2018 #117 "containers"

Containerproject
Bouwafval, gedumpt in containers kan soms hele mooie artistieke beelden opleveren. In het verleden heb ik dat al vaker gefotografeerd maar dan zonder de container er bij. Dit gaat veranderen.
Vanaf nu (maart 2018) zal ik bij elke containerfoto ook een foto plaatsen van de container zelf.
Ik plaats hier alleen containers die ik in Den Haag heb gezien. Ik zal er ook de straatnaam bij vermelden.

The Container City in Cholula is a small neighbourhood created from recycled shipping containers. The area is a popular spot for hipsters and houses restaurants, bars and small shops.
A view taken at Inverness, where Class 47/7 47766 'Resolute' was being used to collect the outgoing Safeway containers from the Dock Branch. The Class 66 train loco that had delivered the intermodal service from Mossend was at the far end of the consist, the Class 47/7 having arrived earlier with the London Euston Sleeper service.

This was the third of the trio of images the Flickr system would not load yesterday. I gave it another go today and it took 15 attempts before the 'Time Out' block was overcome. No reply from Flickr to my report to them on the problems. That said, based on the language they use in some of their 'quirky' instructions/comments would I understand it? Onward.
What says Christmas more than glitter? It's usually all over the house for a month or two ....
When we were kids we used to collect cones and even cones on pine branches .. paint them or glue and glitter them... painstakingly ... with tiny brushes, some not so great glue, and glitter that came in who-knows-what for packaging. It took us ages.... and, then, we sold them to the neighbours for 25 cents. Our big wagon was empty by the time we got halfway down the block.
We had to hike back up the hill to find more cones....
It took me all of about 5 minutes to do this batch of 3 ... with an old cheap fuzzy brush... a bit of white glue which was getting kind of dry so I watered it down ... and a container of glitter with little holes for shaking on the stuff.... easy peasy.
I worked on a chunk of brown paper bag opened out..so that I can save the excess and put it back into the shaker for another time. It hardly used any of the glitter really.... I'll have enough to last a lifetime in a $7.00 container.
Another shot of the latest container ship, this time unladen. This model finishes at the waterline, but the containers can still stack deeper in the centre of the hull as in a real ship. There are also walkways on either side which can be covered by containers, also inspired by the design of real container ships.
Fairly simple yet still pretty strong (I think) eight-wide model of a single-bay intermodal well car. The bay measures six studs wide by 32 studs long, which fits LEGO®'s Maersk Train containers.
