Container Port

Las personas somos un poco como los contenedores. Por fuera muy parecidos, respetando el estándar, sin grandes diferencias. Pero si lográs abrirlos y mirás adentro, las sorpresas pueden ser de todo tipo.

We, the people are a bit like containers. Outside very similar, respecting the standard, without significant differences. But if you can open and look inside, the surprises can be of any kind.

Containerproject

I have driven by these stacked containers on Washington SR 20 near La Conner many times and finally stopped to photograph them. I was struck once again by how simple photography is in principle, but how challenging in practice. These containers are right beside a busy highway. I stopped at a nearby service station on the opposite side and walked over to take some pictures. I had envisioned a straight on shot, but found my route blocked by a ditch filled with thistles which I did not want to brave. I could have walked the long way around to the shoulder of the highway but I did not want my family to have to sit and wait for me for while I did that. Also, standing at the side of a busy highway and not watching the traffic or having someone else to watch it for you is not the best idea. So, with my POV somewhat constrained, I took a number of shots when the view was clear of vehicles. I can see in my mind's eye the image that I wanted to get. However, I am probably going to have to settle for this image since I am always on the way to somewhere else and often pressed for time when I pass by this spot.

Hamilton, Ontario has a large industrial sector and, as a result, shipping is an essential element in keeping that sector operating. To that end, standardized shipping containers are used and, when they are awaiting either loading onto ships for transport to their ultimate destination or awaiting further distribution following off-loading from ships, the containers area stacked neatly, as seen here. The resulting pattern of multi-coloured ‘boxes’ is captured here in an industrial area. - JW

In the hedgehog shaped container is probably stored kohl.

Hedgehogs were believed to be observant as nocturnal animals, and a hedgehog awakening from hibernation was considered a symbol of rebirth. In ancient Egypt, hedgehogs were also eaten.
