As previously posted - undergoing a rolling refurbishment while on waste haulage around the NW.

Run for the last 20 or so years by an owner driver, this lorry is now in the care of a skip firm. It is on it's third engine and second cab - also its third body and second set of rear axles.

The current engine is a Rolls 340 TX which is a little asthmatic. The previous engine was a 325 which despite persistent water problems, pulled extremely well. Prior to this the lorry was fitted with a 270 which suffered a broken crankshaft.

The Rockwell rear axles are from a Foden - fitted due to their cross-locks -- if this gets stuck on a tip then the rest of the vehicles stand no chance!

The Leyland has also been fitted with rubber suspension to counteract the excessive rolling found with the steel suspension when travelling over bumpy ground. This also eliminates the numerous breakages found with the original installation.

The approx 60 cu yard body was homemade around 10 years ago and was fitted when the chassis was lengthened.

The cab came from a Roadtrain found in Skegness -- the doors were cut down to fit.

Tas Singla Mix operate this very tidy Leyland Constuctor mixer, that may well have been new to RMC, as it features an engine driven PTO in the front bumper.

Like a few other mixers I saw on our trip, TSM002 is also fitted with a Fassi crane that I guess gives a bit more flexibility when unloading.

Not the usual Constructor 6, with that wide cab normally seen on the 8 wheelers.

Don't ask, because I don't know, the only thing I am sure of is that the chassis cab was converted to a tipper by a local haulier and run on 'til about 5 years ago!

The thre axle rigid in the T45 range was the Constructor. Fitted with the narrow version of the stylish cab it was a popular vehicle and was the last model to be introduced to the range. It replaced the Ergomatic cabbed Bison which was the last to be updated. This common application of a truck-mixer was a 24.21 model. 24 tonnes GVW fitted with Leyland TL11 210 HP turbocharged engine. Seen at the (then) Tilcon plant at Parkhouse Estate Chesterton Staffordshire.

Not sure if this was a Scottish based tipper at the time, 1995, as it seemed to be weekended at Carnforth Truckhaven

Captured close to the docks area of Larnaca in Cyprus; this well presented Constructor had taken a couple of attempts to photograph as it was a nimble performer and driven by an enthusiastic driver!!

Seen in sunny Cyprus in 2005 this Leyland Constructor 8-wheeler has an extraordinarily long wheelbase. It is the rarer spec Consructor 8 with the narrow T45 cab. Badged as a Leyland DAF it is possible that this 30.26 had a DAf engine.

Motor Panels Cab, picture taken by a friend in Scotland, I will try to find out where.

This Scammell badged Leyland Constructor was first registered in July 1989 and is currently MOT'd until November 2019. It is one I've seen regularly over the past couple of years, still in use hauling dirt away from building sites but have had to make do with this dashcam capture as I alway see it on the move.

This Leyland Constructor bulker was apparently an exhibit at the Commercial Motor Show when new.

These latest pics were taken in 2000 and there were still plenty of these running, but the ERF eight leggers were starting to replace them.

Nice tipper I think the body is built locally, However its still on the OE Hub reduction axles, Spicer 10 Speed Box and I think a TL11 260. A great lorry on the day and I am sure the Malta climate will keep it on the road a few more years yet.
