As sales of controllers saturated the market and no new game play was developed, revenues for the Guitar Hero franchise declined. Activision closed the Guitar Hero division in February, 2011.
This is the first model of the controller that was produced.

A small bronze collection of Lemmings can be found in Dundee near the university climbing a pillar.
Dundee boasts a proud industry of producing computer games, but i can only name two?
A team of student computer game developers from the University of Salford has impressed judges at the national final of a global student technology competition run by Microsoft.
Third year BSc (Hons) Computer and Video Games students Warren Burke, Erik Le Good, Robert Harrison and Lewis Markey, who together with three fellow undergraduates make up computer games company Triple Ox, scooped the runners-up award at the Imagine Cup UK final with an entirely new genre of game based on ‘speed running’.
Flatliners is a first-person game in which the player aims to run between two locations in a surreal alternative world in the quickest time possible while fixing cleverly-designed game glitches and exploiting built in ‘cheats’.

On 13, 14 and 15 May, Walibi Holland was dominated by the Walibi Game. A mecca for those who love computer games and want to celebrate this once in a theme park. Visitors could try out games themselves in various places. There were also demonstrations with well-known gamers and competitions were organised.
Self-games were possible in five places: the High Voltage Zone, the Music Zone, the Retro Zone, the Creator Zone and the Legends Zone. The offer includes Gran Turismo 7, Fortnite, Just Dance, Minecraft, Brawl Stars, FIFA and hundreds of retro games. Before that, Walibi worked together with the Belgian company Meta, which specializes in setting up game fairs.

It's a cinematic moment: after hours of close-fought battles underground, you finally break out into the sunlight of what appears to be Arizona. And the endless industrial architecture gives way to rust-coloured rocks and rusting-pocked metal.
Half-Life is a game set inside a sprawling secret government facility. A friend once described it as "a poem to concrete" (he was only half-joking). The acutely observed variations in industrial architecture are beautifully recreated, using the limited textures of the time.
But the moment when you break free of the corridors would not have been possible, using the unaltered Quake engine, with it's weird, wrap-around clouds.
This tank (situated right next to the building which reminds me of Jedi Knight) could have been used in the reference photography for the game. The streaks of rust and flaking paint would work better in strong sunlight, set against a blue sky. Perhaps I'll replace this photo for one in better conditions another day.

So I'm revisiting my childhood and playing old computer games of the point-and-click adventure variety.
Actually, this is one of the only Humongous Entertainment game I never completed in full: Spy Fox 3: Operation Ozone.
The basis of the game is that you're trying to save the world from an evil poodle named Poodles Galore, and you and your "Spy Corps" group (in the style of spy movies and such) have to stop her by getting a bunch of ingredients together to try to congeal the aerosol can that Poodles is spraying at the world. The reasoning behind her doing this is so everyone will be forced to purchase her brand of "SPF 2001" sunscreen to survive.
Anyway. I was able to do it all. :D Yay! (Such a huge accomplishment for a 22-almost-23-year-old... beating a 10-year-old's video game.)

In 1982, the company branched out with the Rapid Fire line, which were games written by third party authors and marketed by SSI, followed in 1984 by role playing games. In 1987, SSI acquired the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons license from TSR and eventually published 30 AD&D titles.
In 1994, SSI was sold to Mindcape, which then became part of Mattel. The SSI brand was acquired in 2001 by Ubisoft and the brand name was retired.
