Winter has been so cold that the contents of our composter just haven't been rotting and now it's nearly full to the brim and hardly a sign of spring yet.

 

We may be forced to go back to using the brown bins.

Homemade This was made in bucket half filled with water the rest filed with compost. It will sit for 10 to 14 days then I will strain the mix for varoius other recipes as well. When mixed with molassas and orange tea it make a excellent fire ant drench, which wipes out entire mounds of the liitle boogers it cost an lot less than the expensive chemicals you buy

After a heavy snow, we were not able to get to our home-made compost box in the backyard for awhile. This is what we saw when we looked inside. We found it quite beautiful.
