Yes, that's a huge tomato plant growing out of the doorway of my composter. And, yes, it's doing better than any other plant over in my proper garden. Well it should, with all that nutrient-rich compost around its root system! August 2011.

When the bin is closed it still allows some moisture and yet retains enough heat to process the content and to keep the bugs and worms nice and toasty. Do your thing little critters!

The leftover remains of the original compost heap. I think I'll build a raised bed here, since the soil will be so abundant with nutrients! (Oh yeah, and Bit posing nicely again).

I bought one of these bins when I used to live in Colorado and it worked very well. I left it there when I moved but I would definitely get one again next time I buy a compost bin.

Made what I call "compost salad" to add to the bin... Cleared out the fridge and fruit bowl of old produce.

The girls harvested our peas and some of our cilantro and cut it up for the new compost bin.
