Imagine this is the overlay you see when framing a shot -- it is good to place your subject along any one of these lines, and especially in the Hot Spots at the intersections.
I made this for a sermon I did for middle schoolers and for future use in perhaps a series for youth ministry. I wanted it to look harsh and grab the eye of a young person and also to show the concept of "deeper" which was through the arrow and the nucleus like explosion.

As one of the first photographs I took this semester for the rules of composition, I love the way this one turned out. The only edit I made was to crop out some of the background that I noticed was past the orange background. I love the slight reflection as I used the orange mini fridge in my office as the background. This photograph was taken to provide negative space.

M25Nov24-11gmt, Sussex Gardens this is the "breakfast composition". I didn't compose it myself - it was composed by Mr McDonald. It covers two tables and makes a good breakfast. Left table was from an earlier eater. The right table was my breakfast - egg 'n sausage muffin, big tea, METRO, diary and pen for notes. This is often my start to the day.
I had an image in my head for how I wanted to compose this shot but it just didn't work out. Bosco is trained to offer attention to Martin so getting him to look straight ahead was surprisingly challenging. I needed a third handler which I didn't have. Martin ended up throwing a snowball to get Bosco to look straight ahead but then he also had to quickly get the bow into position. The result is that Bosco looks good in this shot but the arrow is knocked too high. This really bugs Martin. :)
Martin has resolved this issue by teaching Bosco to look straight ahead on a "Look" cue. I just need to get around to retaking this shot.
