Dennis Oppenhiem's 2006 sculpture Trees (From Alternative Lifestyle Components) at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
The sculpture is made up of a number of artificial trees spread about a patch of parkland, with various different items on the branches, from kennels to dustbins and garden chairs.
The Yorkshire Sculpture Park is just of the M1 at West Bretton, near Wakefield and occupies a 500-acre country estate interspersed with numerous outdoor sculptures.
There are numerous trails and paths through various zones, with sculptures by such artists as Henry Moore and Antony Gormley among those whose works are exhibited.
The sculptures – which are regularly moved from place to place within the park – blend into the gardens, hillsides and around a small lake, providing an outdoor environment in which to view the works both from afar and up close – and sometimes even from within.

The Atomic Energy Research Establishment (known as AERE or colloquially Harwell) near Harwell, Oxfordshire, was the main centre for atomic energy research and development in the United Kingdom from the 1940s to the 1990s.
the first reactor, GLEEP, was operating by 15 August 1947. GLEEP (Graphite Low Energy Experimental Pile) was a low-power (3 kilowatt) graphite-moderated air-cooled reactor. The first reactor in Western Europe, it operated until 1990.
A successor to GLEEP, called BEPO (British Experimental Pile 0) was constructed based on the experience with GLEEP, and commenced operation in 1948. BEPO was shut down in 1968.
A pair of larger 26 MW reactors, DIDO and PLUTO, which used enriched uranium with a heavy water moderator came online in 1956 and 1957 respectively. These reactors were used primarily for testing the behaviour of different materials under intense neutron irradiation to help decide what materials to build reactor components out of. A sample could be irradiated for a few months to simulate the radiation dose that it would receive over the lifetime of a power reactor. Both reactors were also used for neutron scattering crystallography.
They took over commercial isotope production from BEPO after that was shut down. DIDO and PLUTO themselves were shut down in 1990 and the fuel, moderator and some ancillary buildings removed. The GLEEP reactor and the hangar it was situated in were decommissioned 2005.
The current plans are to decommission the BEPO, DIDO and PLUTO reactors by 2020.

Karate Monkey's new drivetrain. SIS 2011 wrecked the drive train so a new BB and chain was in order... and a perfect oppurtunity to change the ring and cog. Used Homebrewed Components cog and ring. Great stuff! The chain is a ultra cheap KMC chain.

The instructions for the kit are superlative. Liana did virtually all the work in preparing each component to spec and snapping them all into the breadboard according to the diagram - I only helped by reading instructions as she had both hands and eyes busy, then double-checking placement.

The silver seatpost and stem irritated me, so I replaced them with a couple of black components I had lying around. The seatpost (from the Shiromoto) only has about 20mm offset instead of 35mm offset, so I had to compensate by putting on a 100mm stem instead of the 80mm one that I had (and I had to pull the decaleur receiver as part of this process, because the receiver slots fouled against the bottom of the stem.)
Still no rack, but maybe I'll get some time to work on it this weekend

Found in the seaside pavilion, 2007
The most recent excavations yielded several pieces of ivory veneered wooden furniture, including tripods (three legged stands). They were probably transported from their original locations by the force of the volcanic eruption. All are adorned with low relief carvings of Baccic themes. One tripod leg represents the god Bacchus himself on the outer face. Elsewhere cupids prepare sacrifices of fruits and pine cones before herms of the god and a satyr. A flaming altar, cymbals, fillets, and a basket are among the other ritual implements depicted.
Now badly damaged, the ivories were likely once painted and gilded. The tripod legs rested on feet in the form of lion's paws and were stabilized by horizontal hoops with reliefs of laurel branches and bucrania (skulls of sacrificial bulls). Whether the tripods held a bowl, a cauldron, or a celestial sphere remains uncertain.
