Have you ever experienced...

going through a break up and blurting

" you're not who I thought you were!"?

ugh, hhahaha I've been told, lol not a bf but just a friend,

forcefully, well so much for sad memories that's a weird comparison.

I just want to say this is the exact opposite. the soothing, wholesome, pleasant, and happy side/

In this encounter, the words

"You're everything I'd hoped for." come to mind/

I find myself humming...

"you are so beautiful....." ;P

We let the beehive down and look how her hair falls

I feel like i got a chunky redhead Kenner and we're in 1972/

Yes folks I'm totally in-love with RW,

that's Flerida to you.

BTW the real Flerida Lapenia was born in 1970 and the kid sister of my best friend and my first love. Have i told you I'm three ro 7 years years younger than all my classmates? hah long story never mind, carry on/ yup I'm escalated in school and yeah yeah I was a super brain big deal. =(

I don't think I 'd like to smoothen out her hair. I'll let her stay like this.

*singing*

"!I love you just the way you are~~~are woah ho ho huhhum~~"

Odalisque Seated with Arms Raised, Green Striped Chair

Henri Matisse, (French, 1869-1954), Oil on canevas, 1923

National Galley of Art, Washington D.C.

A nearly nude woman with a pale, pink complexion leans back into a striped, upholstered chair with her arms overhead, holding opposite elbows, and one foot tucked under her in this stylized, vertical painting. The scene is painted loosely, making some details indistinct. The woman’s torso faces us but her legs are angled slightly to our right, and she looks off in that direction with dark brown eyes under dark, arched brows. Her features are loosely painted but she seems to have a straight nose and her small, scarlet-red mouth is closed. Her dark brown hair curls down to her ears in a chin-length bob. She wears only a gauzy, transparent cloth, which is gathered low on her hips with a golden-brown belt. Loosely painted, short and zigzag strokes of chocolate brown and harvest gold suggest a wide band of embroidery or decoration around the bottom hem. The woman’s raised arms show two tufts of dark brown hair in her armpits. She has round breasts with dark pink nipples, and a curving belly and hips. Her left knee, farther from us, is bent sharply against the back of the chair so her foot is tucked behind her other thigh. The chair is striped with lime green, white, and lemon yellow. The floor is terracotta orange. A strip of light blue with a gold pattern to the left and a red area with a flower pattern to our right suggest fabrics draped on the sand-brown wall. The artist signed the work in the lower left corner, "Henri Matisse."

This mansion was built in the 1750's. John Fitzgibbon, which was called Black Jack because of his dark complexion. He was appointed Lord High Chancellor of Ireland in 1789 then knighted in 1795 and made Earl of Clare. Became one of the most powerful men in Ireland. He was despised by the Catholic population and when he died in 1802, a dead cat was thrown upon his coffin when it was lowered into the grave in Dublin. The house burned in 1920 during the War of Independence.

Burmese boy with Thanaka powder in his face. Seen in a small village in the Bagan area, Myanmar / Burma.

The yellow circles, squares and lines seen on cheeks, noses and foreheads of people throughout Myanmar is thanaka, a yellow-white cosmetic paste produced by grinding the bark of the thanaka tree on a flat, smooth stone with water. The milky yellow liquid dries quickly when it is applied to the skin. Thanaka is valued as a sunscreen and as a beauty product that keeps the skin cool, stops oiliness, tightens pores, improves the complexion and adds a pleasant, soft fragrance to the skin. Nowhere else in the world is thanaka so widely used.

My visits to South Wales were very rare but this was certainly memorable. I joined my friends Cliff Parr and Tony Heywood for the trip,Cliff had borrowed a two seater van so Tony and myself had to take turns lying in the back. After some exuberant driving by Cliff,my complexion matched the colour of the engines when I crawled out for this shot !

Mother and Child Portrait

Survival of most species depends on the loving care of parents during the upbringing of their offspring.

With a few exceptions it is usually the female that protects, feeds and teaches the young ones.

On a recent trip I came upon this Mom that is taking her "job" very seriously.

One could wonder if she isn't overdoing the "Eat your greens!" thing a bit, but she could also be concerned, and rightfully worried, about her offspring's pale complexion.

Be that as it may, but a healthy breakfast at 06:56 could only be beneficial in building a strong body.

Another beautiful flower indigenous to South Africa. Kei is the name of a large river demarcating the Eastern Cape from an area still called the Transkei (an independent homeland in apartheid days and the birthplace of Nelson Mandela). These flowers bloom in January.

Sanguine:

1. cheerfully optimistic, hopeful, or confident: a sanguine disposition; sanguine expectations.

Dr Ophelia Stein was telling me all about the new indigestion medication she was working on. As I walked away she insisted on giving me a small bottle. 'For the complexion', she said before tucking it into my hand with her bony fingers....

Never been a Shakespeare fan, but Sonnet 18 remains a favourite poem of mine:

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?

Thou art more lovely and more temperate:

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,

And summer's lease hath all too short a date:

Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,

And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;

And every fair from fair sometime declines,

By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd;

But thy eternal summer shall not fade

Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;

Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,

When in eternal lines to time thou growest:

So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,

So long lives this and this gives life to thee.

1. Grew up in Kolkata, eastern part of India, fair complexion, 5’10” height. I shouldn’t mention the weight LOL:-)

2. Always interested in Fine Arts but I never became an Artist by profession in spite of completing graduation in Fine Arts.

3. Parents wanted me to join in Defense service (most of my elders served for Indian Army) and I ended up in Software profession after completing Science graduation (Dual graduate), post graduation in Management.

4. Ironically working as a Software Architect in biggest Hardware Computer Manufacturing Company. Oh oh, I think may be the biggest hardware Co. but don’t want to get into debate, atleast the biggest mainframe manufacturer for sure.

5. Only one wife (of course legally) who inspires me a lot in photography and art to get me out of office work after office hours.

6. My 4 years old son always makes his mom on head over heels that she can’t get time to make critics on my photos before 11’o at night though he has started using my Sony W5 camera to imitate his father.

7. Staying in California but working in New York time zone (thank God I have home office). Love to travel as frequent as possible (Co.- provided trips of course). I can’t afford to travel in every alternative week to east, what I usually do for my job. That’s why during weekend either I spend time in photography or sleep hour after hour.

Before I go to Photography, let me share few other things.

8. After office, I love to cook different dishes (mostly taught by my wife)

9. Love to eat more but always realize next day morning about calorie-intake.

10. Love to spend hours after hours in Shopping. Both my wife and I can do shopping like anything, only my credit card keeps creating a limitation.

11. After shopping, dine-out is a must otherwise shopping mission remains incomplete.

12. Favorite coffee – Starbucks, I don’t smoke, I do drink occasionally & love Vodka, Beer and California wine, favourite music 70's best like (Lobo), Indian Classical - Manna dey, Rabindra shangeet (songs of Tagore)

13. I do photography by passion but now it has become addiction.

14. Flickr was an eye opener for me where I gain knowledge from so many iconic photographers.

15. I never had any formal education in photography, I learned (rather I’m still learning) film and digital photography by self also learn through mistake. I do read a lot of photography books, I made a habit of buying atleast one every month to learn.

16. You are definitely my inspiration for work and I try to cultivate and improve based on your comments and criticism.

This one had very light Portrait Pro work. Chloe has had complexion issues that are only now clearing so I used some gentle smoothing in PP. I could have achieved the same effect in LR...mostly...but this is quicker. Software like this definitely has its place, but it is usually a sledgehammer when tac hammer will suffice. Critiques are welcome...

...more previews of shots to come of this beauty!

Portrait of Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII’s second queen consort and mother of Elizabeth I. The portrait is by an unknown artist, British school, and dates to the late sixteenth-century (during the reign of her daughter). It is inscribed ‘ANNA BOLLINA VXOR HEN viii’ (Anne Boleyn, wife of Henry VIII).

According to Eric Ives

“This painting is an example of the standard likeness of Anne and probably belonged to one of the sets of royal portraits that English gentry liked to display in order to demonstrate loyalty. The likeness corresponds to the only contemporary likeness of Anne, a portrait medal in the British Museum, London, and is confirmed by comparison with a tiny enamel of her, owned by Elizabeth I, now at Chequers. Thus this portrait must ultimately derive from a lost originally taken from life. Other examples of the standard likeness give Anne a more sallow complexion, something noted by her contemporaries, so indicating that this portrait has been somewhat ‘glamorized’, a process that is taken further in subsequent copies. Anne’s allure came from her personality, education and style, not from her good looks.”

The portrait is currently display at the “Henry VIII: Man and Monarch” exhibit at the British Library.

Apart from the diverted trains of all complexions, the regular traffic that day carried an unusual sight too: one of the very few Thurbo GTW type EMUs in a full promotional livery. There are only four of those (and only one of the GTW 2/8 class with three coaches): this one, RABe 526 779, is advertising for insurance company Sympany, and is seen between Andelfingen and Henggart on its way as S33 20351 Schaffhausen - Winterthur. Henggart, 20-02-2015.

Chloe always complains that I remove too many flaws from her complexion in post. This lens is a near miracle of perfection and one thing that it exceeds at is capturing every single tiny detail of a face. Not always what one is shooting for in beauty photography. Her thought is that it is our flaws and imperfections that make us who we are. So..."C" as she sees herself...
