G'day everyone! As I've studied and been more educated about Interior Design, I've come to understand and learn about what the main focus and strategy is,
behind Interior Design, or Architecture alone. Nature is very important,
it enhances the chemical of where the structure stands, you have to respect natures well being to then accomplish and create a building on mothers land. Once you've accomplished then you will be able to understand it's stance.
Interior Design is mostly inspired by Fashion, the skin complexion of the models
which stand upright, within the landscape, the two define each other and create a
storyline somehow, and usually the Designer will influence the Internals by bringing in the depths of the 'exterior'
such as landscape, but Fashion also allows an Interior Designer to grasp a space, like additional emotions, setting a mood for instincts.
A mid-dry grounds, with weeds of thorn bushes, and long grass, climbing up through the sand dunes, as the wind blows out, swooping down over the rocks,
and the distant town calling out, the red rock, the white sand, the crisp fresh, dry,
sounds of a nature taking its toll. The models stand free, with the wind relapsing itself, through
their hair, clothing with no branding or tagging, to be detached from the day to day routine, and to just connect with the mother nature.
The exterior of the structure was designed by myself, but with the help of a dear man, Thomaz Mulloy,
he was able to transform, the structure and make it into a high definition build with nice quality textures. The build wasn't inspired by anyone but nature,
it's wind protected, meaning the build stands tall at 8 meters high, it's shaped like an 'A' being a windbreaker at the front, protecting the front and back from
strong wind storms, but on peaceful days it looks rather beautiful, with its mighty strength standing but a simple structure to not blind and distract its purpose of being there.
As for the Interior of the space, I've really wanted to respect the exterior landscape by incorporating the Interior colour pallet to be flush, in materials, textures and of course the colour range that I have chosen. Warm soft off-whites,
with rusty worn leather accents, a minimal pattern with tribal print work. The structure is bare to a minimum with wooden features to nitpick from the exterior, to flow into the interior, with the pine and oak trimmings. Minimal greenery but gives the interior some life.

Phrase book was published in 1831 - so very early 200 years ago. The entry showing is how to make a request for a wet nurse... This should remind us that women travelled with young babies or even soon after giving birth and those who could afford it would hire a wet nurse for their baby. You can just about see that the requirement is for someone 'young and robust, who has a good complexion...... and whose milk is not very old'. Obviously the requirements are adressing the health of the wet mother.

Absolutely loving playing around with Black and White, it gives the image such a different feel, and sometimes I find can save it. This is one of those examples.
I feel my editing have come some way since I first started, looking back through old photos it can be quite shocking at times.
This shot was taken outdoors in harsh sunlight and not a very pretty background, gotta love post processing!

Meet Anne
The streets of Bethesda have been wonderful for me as far as the 100 Strangers project is concerned - always possibilities of interesting personalities and even if am not in luck still a great place to hang out with a chilled vibrant vibe. Was strolling around last weekend - with wifey around too - when I saw Anne walking at a distance. Tall and confident - something about her personality with the backlit curls and her sparkling eyes made her a wonderful subject even from a distance. Although I was undecided as she passed me - mostly on the age factor - I decided to give it a try - which means I had to take some big strides to walk ahead of her and wait = one of the things I have learned on the project is try to avoid approaching a stranger from behind. Anyways I made my request when Anne reached close - and she agreed to be photographed and we walked a few steps to find a good spot with good light.
As we did a few test shots I learned that Anne was a research student focusing on malaria and working towards a career as a health professional. Her favorite quality about herself - was her motivation - for self and others. In all honesty there were a few more questions that I did ask - but either didn't follow-up for a answer or completely forgot. - since I got a little focused on the pictures itself.
Anne was extremely photogenic as expected - and very sporting as well. She was not vey keen on open hair - but when i assured her that she would look as good and messy hair is not really issue - she obliged for a few pics. We moved in a little towards the edge of the street - relatively quieter - since Anne was a little conscious of the people walking by which is quite understandable. though she didn't really show it in the pics. In fact she even pulled of a few cool poses. We also used the foliage from the bushes at the street corner to complement her flawless complexion and eyes- some of my fav pics.
Thank you Anne for your time and trust - I realize the 5 minutes I promised turned to 15 - especially given that you were as you mentioned a little conscious. It was wonderful doing these pictures - you were a wonderful sport as well. My apologies in advance if I did not accurately capture your responses., All the very best in all that you do a- was indeed great making your acquaintance. The Frog and the Fox is one of Aesop’s Fables.
A frog leaves his native swamp and proclaims himself a wonder-working doctor. He is then asked by a skeptical fox how it is that he cannot cure his own lameness and sickly complexion.
So, it appears that the spring backyard chipmunk turf wars are temporarily over. This is the chipmunk that seems to have beaten out the others and, as you can tell, he also seems to have come out of it unscathed. Usually there is lots of evidence of the brutality that these cute little critters inflict upon each other. However, this little chipmunk has managed to keep his boyish, model-like complexion intact. =^D
We’ll have to see how he adapts to super-model status. So far I’m not really impressed. He lacks the hyper-active sensitivity that is needed for a true star poser. As a photographer I demand that my models stop and strike a pose often and with great, committed enthusiasm. A truly gifted photographic Chippy is one that envisions undeniable death at every possible moment and from every single direction. Their abrupt actions serve to reveal the intensity of their stress.
…Unfortunately, this guy tends to blend his actions. He also obviously missed out on any covert action style of training because he usually just makes a bee-line straight for the food dish instead of taking a more entertaining, stealth like approach.
I guess time will tell…

Is a species of small passerines in the family Passeridae.

Holi, the Festival of Colours has been celebrated in India since thousands of years and is now also celebrated by various communities of South Asia including non-Hindu communities.
While Holi is celebrated in almost every part of India, Holi in Braj is especially famous. Braj is a historical region which covers the area of Mathura, Vrindavan,Barsana,Nandgaon and some nearby areas. Holi here attacts tourists and pilgrims from all over the world because of it’s special customs and traditions. Mathura is the birth-place of Lord Krishna and Vrindavan is the place where he grew up in his childhood.
When Krishna was young, he cribbed to his mother about Radha (his friend) being fair while Krishna himself was dark complexioned. His mother (Yashoda) suggested him to colour Radha with colors in a playful manner. Over the years, Krishna from his village Nandgaon used to go to Barsana (Radha’s village) to color Radha and other Gopis. They also used to playfully beat him with sticks. And hence the tradition evolved.
According to the legend, menfolk from Nandgaon visit Barsana to celebrate ‘Holi’ with women from Barsana. When these people come visiting, they are welcomed by these women with sticks and are beaten up. The bunch from Nandgaon comes well prepared for it, with a padded shield to counter the attacks. These sticks are called ‘lathths’, hence this holi-celebration is famously known as ‘Laththmaar’ holi.
Next day, the women from Barsana (since the women don’t go, men and trans-genders dressed as women represent women from the village) go to Nandgaon to celebrate Holi with the men from the village. They are welcomed with water and colour everywhere, but the main event takes place in the courtyard of the temple at Nandgaon. This event marks the highlight of the holi celebration at Nandgaon. During the celebrations at the temple courtyard, people from both the villages sit across each other singing, dancing and conversing and this meet-up is termed as ‘samaaj’.

The coleto (Sarcops calvus) is a starling species (family Sturnidae) in the monotypic genus Sarcops. It is endemic to the Philippines. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. In Central Visayas, this bird is commonly known as the sal-ing.[1]

In 1760 the French zoologist Mathurin Jacques Brisson included a description of the coleto in his Ornithologie based on a specimen collected in the Philippines. He used the French name Le merle chauve des Philippines and the Latin Merula Calva Philippensis.[2] Although Brisson coined Latin names, these do not conform to the binomial system and are not recognised by the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature.[3] When in 1766 the Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus updated his Systema Naturae for the twelfth edition, he added 240 species that had been previously described by Brisson.[3] One of these was the coleto. Linnaeus included a brief description, coined the binomial name Gracula calva and cited Brisson's work.[4] The specific name is from Latin calvus "bald" or "without hair".[5] This species is now the only member of the genus Sarcops that was introduced by the English ornithologist Authur Walden in 1875.[6] The name combines the Ancient Greek words sarx, sarkos "flesh" and ōps, ōpos "face" or "complexion".[7]

Portrait of Pope Innocent X is an oil on canvas portrait by the Spanish painter Diego Velázquez, executed during a trip to Italy around 1650. Many artists and art critics consider it the finest portrait ever created. It is housed in the Galleria Doria Pamphilj in Rome. A smaller version is held by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and a study is on display at Apsley House in London. The painting is noted for its realism as an unflinching portrait of a highly intelligent, shrewd, and aging man. He is dressed in linen vestments, and the quality of the work is evident in the rich reds of his upper clothing, head-dress, and the hanging curtains.
The pope, born Giovanni Battista Pamphilj, was initially wary of sitting for Velázquez, but relented after he was shown reproductions of portraits by the artist. A contributing factor for this large advancement in the painter's career was that he had already depicted a number of members of Pamphilj's inner court. The pope, however, remained cautious, and the painting was initially displayed only to his immediate family, and was largely lost from public view through the 17th and 18th centuries.
The portrait was painted during Velázquez's second voyage to Italy, between 1649 and 1651. The subject's vestments are of light linen, suggesting that the picture was probably painted during summer, most likely in 1650. Velázquez included his signature on the paper in the pope's hands, but the date is not readable. There are two versions of the story of how Velázquez came to paint the portrait. According to one of these, while visiting Rome, Velázquez, already a renowned painter, was granted an audience with Pope Innocent X. He offered to paint a portrait of the pope, but Innocent X mistrusted Velázquez's fame, and asked for proof of Veláquez's skills. It would have been then that Velázquez painted the portrait of his servant Juan de Pareja (today at display in the Metropolitan Museum of New York). Once Innocent saw that portrait, he agreed to sit for the artist.
Apparently, when the pope saw the finished portrait, he exclaimed: "È troppo vero! È troppo vero!" ("It's too true! It's too true!"), though he did not deny the extraordinary quality of the portrait.[4] Experts doubt the veracity of this story, and argue that the pope allowed Velázquez to paint him because he had already painted with great success other people from the inner papal court, including the pope's barber.
The portrait was kept at private display by Innocent's family, the Pamphilj, who would display it in the Doria Pamphilj Gallery where it remains to this day. For much of the 17th and 18th centuries, it was a relatively unknown work, familiar only to a few connoisseurs who regarded it to be one of the finest portraits ever. French historian Hippolyte Taine considered the portrait as "the masterpiece amongst all portraits" and said "once it has been seen, it is impossible to forget".
The art dealer René Gimpel noted in his diary in 1923 "Morgan would have offered a million dollars for it. Velázquez was faced with a ruddy Italian, and the artist, accustomed to the pale complexions of his country, unhesitatingly steeped his brush in red the color of wine and brought the bon vivant devastatingly to life.... That face is a whirlpool of flesh, and blood, and life; the eyes are searching.
The 20th century artist Francis Bacon painted a series of distorted variants, often known as the "Screaming Popes", which total more than forty-five known variants executed during the 1950s and early 1960s. The picture was described by Gilles Deleuze as an example of creative re-interpretation of the classical. Bacon avoided seeing the original, but the painting remained the single greatest influence on him; its presence can be seen in many of his best works from the late 1940s to the early 1960s. In Bacon's 1953 version Study after Velázquez's Portrait of Pope Innocent X, the pope is shown screaming yet his voice is "silenced" by the enclosing drapes and dark rich colors which have been said to create a grotesque and nightmarish tone. The pleated curtains of the backdrop are rendered transparent and appear to fall through the representation of the pope's face.

She has a "ruddy" complexion, so I contemplated contacting patient care, but I'm not sure it would qualify for a replacement, so I opted instead to airbrush her forehead just a touch for these photos. That's really all that was needed other than a high contrast setting.

The feast of the "Virgen de la Candelaria" begins on the eve of the 2nd of February and last until the first Sunday after that day, and ends one week after continuing with the celebration of the Carnivals. On February 9th the folklore parade is celebrated. The groups, which paraded days before, on the 2nd, now return for a procession before the Virgin, who will gaze them from the atrium of the church. Then, folk groups set off through the city, dancing tirelessly until sunset. At the end of the week the feast ends in the cemetery, for the paying of respects of the dead.
The statue of the Virgin is small, and it represents a virgin of very white complexion and blushed cheeks. This Virgin is harbored in the Church of San Juan El Bautista.
In the afternoon the virgin statue leaves the church, and more than forty groups attired in the costumes and masks classic in the culture of altiplano dance, join crowd.
On the main day, February 2, the virgin is led through the city in a colorful procession comprising priests, altar boys, the faithful, Christians and pagans carefully maintaining the hierarchy. This is the moment when the troupes of musicians and dancers take the scene, performing and dancing throughout the city.
