Local high school students compete in a bridge building competition hosted by Saint Vincent College.
I decided to enter a photography competition a few weeks ago, it was the first one I've ever entered and I won!
Pretty happy about this, this image is a combination of the winning photographs.

The competitors participated in a land navigation course, Feb 9. The winning noncommissioned officer and junior enlisted Soldiers will move on the U.S. Army Reserve Command competition in May. Athletes, coaches, volunteers and law enforcement meet at The University of Nevada Reno for the 2014 Special Olympics Nevada Summer Games.
The athletes ran, walked and wheeled through the track portion of the competition.

Entries for the annual Stevens Competition held at Glaziers Hall in London for young stained glass artists. These were among the top few from 1996 shown at the seminar to select the winning panels from among the many submissions. Alfred Fisher was the presiding speaker.
I was in my third year at Swansea when we made this trip to London, as we did for the previous two years (though I have no photos from the second one).
The FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics competition took place at Boston University. High School students from all over New England took part. Workers from the Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center and PM-FSS mentored the students as they built their robots for competition. The schools received grants through the National Defense Education project.

Photos from the Mid-CT Photography Meetup Group photo shoot at the FIRST Robotics Competition at the Convention Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
Brothers, Jack, 15 and John Burton, 14, have both snapped up prizes in the recent Durham Wildlife Trust photographic competition when young people were asked to take photos of the Teesdale countryside during the summer holidays.
Jack photographed a moorhen on the river at Gainford, whilst John chose a robin as his subject.
Both boys will receive a framed print of their winning entry – courtesy of Richard Laidler Photography, books and bird box with camera.
As part of the boys’ prize the school also received a bird box with camera and a four camera wildlife CCTV system. It is hoped to be able to link the cameras to the school’s learning gateway.
Jack enjoys wildlife photography and spends most weekends photographing in the countryside. He hopes to eventually make a career of this. John became interested in photography and decided to give it a try after having seen Jack’s work.
The boys said “We are delighted that other students in the Academy will have the opportunity to see wildlife in action in its natural habitat.”
Well, this is my first achievement in my photography hope to be career... its taken me two years to get somewhere but every minute has been worth it! Me and John entered different category's and somehow we both won haha! anyway this is in the Northern Echo newspaper! We were also in the Teasdale one :) And the second image is me n John being presented our awards in one of the school's ground! If you read the article i have put above in the description you will have known what the school won and what me n John won :) I want to thank all my Flickr friend again for all the kind comments and tips they have given me... you know who you are!! Oh and if any of you are wondering which one is which... i'm the older one but i look younger haha got lighter hair and smaller than my little brother haha oh well :) I hope you enjoy the photos i share with you!

The 4th Karnataka state level UCMAS Abacus Mental Arithmetic Competition was held on 19th November 2011 (Saturday) at 9.00 am, at St. Joseph’s Convent Girls High School & P. U College for Girls auditorium, Frazer Town, Bangalore. The Prize Distribution function took place on the 20th November (Sunday) at 9.30 am, at the same venue. 2200 students from different towns of Karnataka state, including major cities, participated with zeal and enthusiasm to win state level positions. The State Level competition opened up opportunity for the students at the Centers in the state to take part in the competition. Mr. P.C. Chadaga, I.R.S., Addl. Commr., Income Tax (Retd) was the Chief Guest on the occasion of the competition & Mr. S.C. Vijaya Raghavendra , popular Film Star, was the Chief Guest for the Prize Distribution Ceremony on the second day. The competition was inaugurated at 9 AM on the 19th NOV
