On Mar. 25, 2015, the CFB Special Olympics All Stars competed along with other area school districts in track and field events at Standridge Stadium. Attending dignitaries were Carrollton Mayor Matthew Marchant; Military and Veterans Liaison from Congressman Kenny Marchant's office, John Hayes; Monique Evans, Miss Texas 2014 and Superintendent Dr. Bobby Burns.

It was fun to see the interactions of the various competitors. This picture stood-out because of the two approaches, intense and comfortable are both seen with some action thrown-in for context.

Judge felt post (and bench) in background were a little distracting and mabe a portrait orientation crop would reduce the effect of these. He liked the exposure and loved the moment.
I had blurred the background a bit in photoshop because the distractions were more evident originally. I shied away from a higher blur because it started to look slightly unreal.
I would really have liked the ball to be in the photo (as would the judge). But he and I accepted the ball had long gone so tough. [I resisted the urge to add the ball because it would have been against the spirit of the competition even if I could find somewhere to put it that looked remotely plausibel.]
3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) Soldiers competed in the 2012 David E. Grange Jr. Best Ranger Competition, April 13-15, at Fort Benning, Ga. There were two teams representing The Old Guard. Team 22, Capt. Erik Edstrom and Staff Sgt. Sean McApline finished in 8th place and earned the Capt. Russell B. Rippetoe Trophy, an award presented annually to the Road March Winners at the Best Ranger Competition and Team 23, Sgt. 1st Class David Garver and Spc. Sheldon Benjamin finished in 28th place.

This comp is unique in that the bartenders never know where they are going and are forced to rely on ingenuity and inventiveness to create their drinks. F10 final will be in the Australian Bush using local ingredients.
