In 2010 with the technical support of AFPRO a low cost irrigation facility was developed in this year. Now both the Kharif and the Rabi is found successful. Though drought is a regular phenomenon in Godda district, but people of Dhelatola have no problem of irrigation. There was no school Building till 2008.
Now, Children are getting food, earned (paddy, maize and wheat) in the village itself. No more distress migration. Green vegetable are always available in the village. The children are happy about having fresh home grown vegetables like potatoes, tomatoes, brinjals and onions Children are also going to the school in the village.
A village in Mayurbhanj district in Orissa, lacked even the most basic of amenities. With lack of awareness of their basic rights, the people in this village considered even basic healthcare a distant luxury. Malnutrition and the high prevalence of malaria, polio and other diseases had led to a high rate of child and infant mortality. Institutional deliveries were very rare, leading to severe complications during child birth, and sometimes even death.
But today, the people of this village have a different story to tell. Through World Vision’s Citizen Voice and Action (CV & A) efforts the community members were made aware of the issues of maternal and child health and the importance of addressing them.
