March 11, 2018 - Tumbes (Peru). Community health volunteers Alicia and Magda visit houses in their neighborhood to educate their community on how to prevent Zika infection. The volunteers also monitor for mosquito hot-spots using ovitraps, a community-based surveillance method, and report data to the local health department. In Peru, USAID supports the national health laboratories to study mosquitoes that spread Zika and help the country combat the spread of the disease. USAID strengthens government health systems across Latin America to combat Zika and prepare for future health threats. In Peru, USAID is leveraging community partners and leadership to disseminate key Zika information and battle Aedes aegypti mosquitoes through low-cost community-based methods. By working in Latin America and the Caribbean to control the spread of Zika, USAID is helping reduce travel-related infections and keeping citizens in the United States safe and healthy. © Thomas Cristofoletti / RUOM for USAID

I had the pleasure of attending the opening of the Annenberg Community Beach House at Santa Monica State Park this morning. The highlight of this beautiful event on the most perfect day imaginable was a visit from a few of our friends from Cirque du Soleil, scheduled to appear here again this summer.
Vicenza Community members take part in the5k Fun Run/Walk "Donut Dash" at the North 40 Track Field Sept. 26.
EFMP and Youth races started after some heavy rain.
In the adult race, for each donut eaten (max 5) a minute was taken off from individual finishing time. Awards were presented to the winners of each category and also to best costume for adults. The top 200 finishers received a T-shirt.

One of our tenants at Tower Court, Evonne, sent us these lovely photos of their Easter celebrations. They've collected Easter eggs to donate to local children and their families in the community and are hosting an 'Eggstravaganza' with games including a hunt for golden eggs!
We love the strong sense of community at Tower Court! Our tenants are always more than happy to get involved and keen to share their photos with us!
The annual Wassailing ceremony took place at Bridport Community Orcchard, Dorset, on the afternoon of Sunday 12th December 2025. A large crowd turned out to sing, to dance with Wyld Morris and hear storyteller Martin Maudsley. The Apple King & Queen were crowned, lots of noise was made and hopefully there will be a good crop of apples this year! This old custom of blessing the orchards traditioanlly took place on Twelfth Night and was originally a Pagan tradition dating back many hundred of years. Volunteers from the Comminity Orchad served hot and cold appple juice and Dorset Nectar Cider of Bridport sold plenty of cider!
