As Congress and the Obama Administration take on the issue of health care reform, Sheldon invited Cumberland residents to share their health care stories and ideas with him at this free community dinner at the Lusitania Club. He was joined by Cumberland Mayor Daniel McKee, and Rhode Islander Kathy Fonseca, who is living with a heart condition and has experienced the shortfalls of our health care system first hand.

We celebrated Fabrice’s 70th Birthday with a memorable party at the Mill Valley Community Center on December 15, 2024. Enjoy this party photo by Fabrice Florin.
Over a hundred friends and relatives came to celebrate the birthday boy. They honored Fabrice with a delightful mix of artistic, musical, written and spoken tributes.
We had a wonderful evening together. In the dark times we live in, community matters more than ever, and this party brought us all closer to each other. Thanks to all who made this inspiring event possiblei!

The annual Wassailing ceremony took place at Bridport Community Orchard, Dorset, on the afternoon of Sunday 12th Januaryer 2025. A large crowd turned out to sing, to dance with Wyld Morris and hear storyteller Martin Maudsley. The Apple King & Queen were crowned, lots of noise was made and hopefully there will be a good crop of apples this year! This old custom of blessing the orchards traditnally took place on Twelfth Night and was originally a Pagan tradition dating back many hundred of years. Volunteers from the Community Orchard served hot and cold apple juice, and Dorset Nectar Cider of Bridport sold plenty of cider!
to scare the birds off, I presume. It looked so nice outside today that I just had to get out of my office. So I took a walk around the community gardens and enjoyed the breif 64 degree weather.

16 October 2009. Lismore finally gains access to central community land to create a community garden. Rainbow Region Community Farms initiated the idea in 2006 and now we have our land! Lots of work yet to do but it will be worth it. Educating all kinds of people in healthy food that's easy to grow.
