To celebrate at the culmination of our opening week events, we hosted our Community Open House on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, from noon to 2:30 p.m. Groups of a cappella singers, dancers, and musicians filled the center as we opened up our spaces and invited the public to poke around. Elise Witt led An Impromptu Glorious Chorus at the end of the open house and invited everyone to join in. After the open house, we welcomed our second performers, the conductorless ensemble Sphinx Virtuosi.
I used different kind of light sources to take these pictures. Most of my community is home. I took these pictures at the same location as I did for my previous project.

Houston Community College and community leaders celebrated the inaugural graduation of 53 Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses scholars during a ceremony at HCC's Southeast College Monday, October 3.
Newark Renters, along with Ironbound Community Corporation, organized a series of actions & assemblies for the #renterweekofaction including a rally and 'people's hearing' at city Hall Wednesday to call for strengthened rent control, inclusionary zoning and development without displacement; a rally at the Newark Housing Authority Thursday to demand full funding for HUD and a community assembly & celebration Friday to plan future actions and campaigns!

The wooden building of the former Tapanila Railway Station has been moved ca. 10 km here to Pikku-Huopalahti and is now used as a community center for the neighbourhood.
They worked through wind and rain.
