Our annual choir gig at Thwiate Gardens in Cottingham. This was the very first gig I ever did with the choir, and this is the third year I've done it.
What a lovely day with friends and music, singing and joy. And wow, I was blown away with our chorister Beth and her incredible solo on Queen's 'Somebody To Love'. She was awesome!

There is a longstanding Christian tradition of analogy between Divine Love's transformation of the believer's soul and fire's alchemical transformation of base elements into refined ones. In the history of Christian devotional life, the woundedness of the self has often been seen as the opening for God to enter, and the dissolution of the self has been seen as the preface to God's recreation of that self. Similarly in alchemy, the destruction of materials precedes their transmutation. In the polyptych, the theme of woundedness is manifest in three of the four saints: Roch, Peter Martyr, and Sebastian. And of course, fire is the attribute of the fourth, St. Vincent Ferrer. Because of the way alchemical and devotional tradition enfolded each other, it is possible to read Christian devotional motifs in alchemical terms, as Iulia Millesima does with this polyptych in the following passage: www.labyrinthdesigners.org/alchemy-art/andrea-da-murano-a...
I forgot to fill the birdhouses, so the cardinal was looking everywhere. Don't worry I fed him after I got this shot.

I know that I left everyone hanging and the new pipe was definitely installed in the house but not without incident! At the same time that the pipe was being installed the sheetrock in the attached garage decided that it had been in place long enough and a portion of it decided collapse! Fortunately it landed on the canoes and did fall on the cars. It has been repaired as well! My refrigerator had been repaired numerous times and so they decided to replace it for free under warranty!! Only with they would do the same with my NEW washer with doesn't work properly!
Those were the least of my problems as Georgia once again has some medical issues!! She was diagnosed the first time with Cerebral Fourth Nerve Palsy that causes her to have double vision and made here very disoriented and nauseous! We left the hospital and returned home after the first stay only to return a couple of days later with some stroke-like symptoms in her left arm and hand! After a barrage of tests there were no conclusions as to what caused the symptoms, but both issues have cleared up and she is once again doing splendidly!! I still have some things to take care of and so it will likely be next week before I become involved again!!
I am sorry that I have not answered any emails but things have been a bit hectic here and I know that everyone will understand!! I will get back to everyone in time but am not sure when!! The comments will remain off and I want everyone to know that I appreciate your thoughts and concerns!! Hope everyone is doing well!! Have a wonderful week!!

Christmas LFF weekend in Leeds, absolutely awesome! Gemma got properly festive with her sexy Santa outfit, and I even made a bit of an effort in a red and black dress.
It was a crazy busy event night so was very difficult to get round and see everyone but that's the way it always is on busy event nights.
With the gorgeous Sarah.

The Sheffield Beer And Cider Festival is something that Gemma always tries to attend and she had hotel bookings for that weekend, but unfortunately as with many things recently, the beer festival was cancelled. BUt we decided to have a Sheffield weekend just the same, and it was a brill time!
Our good friend Sarah also happened to be in town the first couple of days so we got to spend time with her too - first time since early 2020. It was lovely catching up.
Gemma and me doing a dancing video to Mika - Grace Kelly. Fantastic tune!
My dearest Flickr friends! Thank you all so much for commenting on my photo's! That means so much to me!!
And I've got wonderful news, it seems like one of my Flickr friends is wanting to buy one of my photo's to put up in his (shared!!) office!!! It's the one with the terrific light in the forrest, the lane, taken from the ground view! With the sunlight!
Today I WANTED to study, but I took my camera with me and Amsterdam is just soooo beautiful in the fall!!! It's sooo tempting to shoot a few more pictures than to study! Luckily I already have weekend since my exam was tuesday. My semester is over and the next one starts monday, so it's not too bad if I don't study my hardest today.
I can't wait to share the best of my pictures! I liked this one because it's one of the last pictures I made today (like 10 minutes ago) and it's right in front of my 'work place', the university of Amsterdam! It's one of the oldest cars we have in Holland and it was quite popular in the seventies and eighties! Then there's the beautiful orange color, which is our Dutch proud. When there's soccer, Holland is dressed in orange. And when it's the queens birthday, Amsterdam turns orange. Then there are the leafs surrounding the car! And of course you see bikes in the background. This image couldn't be more typical Amsterdam. The only thing missing would be doves and water, but I've got several pictures of both doves and the waters!!!
It will be a terrible job searching the three best pictures out of the 500 I've made today so maybe I'll make a top 10 and post a few every day the next couple of days.
Wish you succes tomorrow at work!!
Mirjam

We had our annual September visit to Newcastle and had an amazing time once again! I just love that city, the people are so friendly and welcoming.
Day 2 we went for food at TGIs then on to Sgt Peppers and finally ended up in Rusty's where we met loads of lovely people as we always seem to do.
Gemma had a huge cocktail in TGIs!

One of my lovely friends from Leeds First Friday, Alice, came to Hull for a night out with me. She's really embraced the feminie lifestyle and is making the most of getting out as much as she can, which is wonderful!
We went for a meal at Ambiente tapas restaurant on Humber Street near the marina. From there we went a few doors down to Cuban Pete's Rum Bar and then on for a drink in the Old Town at the King Billy.
Selfies before going out.
Nice comments without copied/pasted group icons are welcome. .

Leeds Pride weekend. Wow. After a far too long 3 year wait since the last one, we had been building up to this!
For me, Leeds Pride weekend is the highlight of the year. And this year it certainly didn't disappoint!
So to Sunday, the day of the parade. Wow, what an overwhelming, beautiful, wonderful day that was! Meeting up with lots of friends we hadn't seen in such a long time, and of course, the parade itself was incredible to experience. I high fived so many kids along the route, and it was so lovely seeing their faces light up as they high fived!
We met up again with our amazing friends who made us the 'You Matter' pine cone which has resonated down the years (see the picture of the pine cone in my album August 2018 for the story) and it's always a privilege to see them, and the lovely Sue too, a friend we made when she saw the story of the pine cone here on Flickr.
I was emotionally drained by the time the parade was over though, so I didn't go back out into Leeds on the evening. But what a day. I'll remember it for ever!
Hotel selfies - Pride ready!
