Sunday and it's time to go back home to Hull. Loved this Leeds weekend, it was sad to leave!
I won't be back for at the very least 3 months, times are tight. Got a weekend in Lincoln to look forward to next up though, at the end of May.
Back at home, but still had my makeup on so got into a dress too for the evening!

Due to unexpected ccircumstances, sadly I was unable to get to Leeds in time for the Friday night as I usually would, so instead I went on the Saturday.
We went to see the comedy show at the Fenton and then on to Pryzm for a bit of music and dancing.
We had a new friend with us this time - Kimberley who had been out on the Friday, but couldn't get a makeover organised for Saturday so she came out in her male persona.
In Pryzm later on in the night. With the lovely Sarah.

Terwilliger Hot Spring is great. Rather than fight its popularity, the forest service helps to maintain the spring. A day use fee helps pay for cleaning and upkeep.
As I ride my bike, I am in solitude, much of the way, so I enjoy the socialization of hot springs if I find them.
There are many good looking naked men there; I notice that being a gay man myself. Most of the people are not gay, but people tend to be mellow and fairly open minded at places like this. There are both men and women at the spring. Even if one were totally blind, and couldn't see all the attractive people, the conversations, around the pools, are far more interesting than what one would likely hear in a bar.
One of the attractive people, I met, was a young city council person from back east. He was out west visiting friends. Too bad he was just leaving as I got there, but it's all in the role of the dice. There were many other interesting people and topics tumbling around in the fresh air.
It seems easy to join in to any of several conversations taking place around the pools. Find out where people have been traveling, who is planning to move to Oregon, what someone thinks of their career plans, why someone decided to quit their high profile computer job.
I even met someone from Bellingham there; someone I haven't seen since even though he lives near me. Interesting how one can meet at a hot spring, but not in normal life.
From my letters in Bellingham Herald, late 1990s
Call it Nudeworking instead of Networking
The Whatcom County Council was foolish when it voted to ban nude sunbathing at Teddy Bear Cove near Bellingham. In this fast-paced society; nude beaches could be replacing the corner store as the place where people stop and visit.
When I was on a bicycle trip around Washington and Oregon; last summer; I found that nude hot springs and saunas were among the best spots to visit with local people. At times they seemed like the only places where conversation was longer than the quick "thank you" after something is sold at a cash register.
Near Eugene; Ore. I visited a wonderful place called Terwilliger Hot Spring. It is jointly maintained by the U.S. Forest service and a volunteer citizen group called "Friends of the Hot Spring."
At times it seemed like the only place I got to see people outside their automobiles. Friendly visits at the spring gave me a better feel for the people of that area than I would have received if all I had seen of the people was their cars zipping past me on the road all day.
Instead of networking; this experience could be called "nudeworking."

Unusually we had an outing in May even before Leeds First Friday. Alan Partridge was in Hull with his show Stratagem which was absolutely brilliant - and we were a lot closer to the front than we had been at the Joe Lycett gig!
We went to The Star afterwards where our lovely friend Cherry Pops was DJing.

The St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is a Bulgarian Orthodox cathedral in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Built in Neo-Byzantine style, it serves as the cathedral church of the Patriarch of Bulgaria and is one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in the world, as well as one of Sofia's symbols and primary tourist attractions. The St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral occupies an area of 3,170 square meters (34,100 sq ft) and can hold 10,000 people inside.
The construction of the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral started in 1882 (having been planned since 19 February, 1879), when the foundation stone was laid, but most of it was built between 1904 and 1912. Saint Alexander Nevsky was a Russian prince. The cathedral was created in honour to the Russian soldiers who died during the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878, as a result of which Bulgaria was liberated from Ottoman rule.

Our annual September visit to Newcastle.
Saturday night we started out at The Yard where we met the lovely Chloe. Then we went to see the Ladyboys of Bangkok, and they were amazing as they always are!
We got our picture with them on stage at the half time interval too.
Very funny - they guy on our table got chosen and brought up on stage for one section, and he abviously absolutely loved it!
We finished the night with Ellie in Rusty's bar.

This is a set of 7 images. The Zegeer House in Jenkins, Kentucky was built circa 1911, the materials being stucco (I think) and wood. I’m not sure of the architectural style, but it does have some features of the Prairie style. The house with its whites and browns blends into the landscape. It is sited on a slightly rising elevation and a good distance from the street; and with many trees on the front lawn a full view of the house was impossible; the land behind the house is full growth woods. An idea of the front façade may be realized by viewing the rear (Image 4), excluding the garage, as it closely approximates the front. It’s a more horizontal structure than vertical and has a large centrally located chimney. The low-pitched roof has prominent eaves that exist throughout the structure with simple, thin brackets in the cornice. The substantial front gable (from which the chimney rises) extends to the rear and a line of five 6/6 sash windows. A large picture window on the front façade under the gable. The use of vertical bands of wood on plaster suggests a Tudor influence, and it’s the wood on stucco that provides the ornamentation of the house. The appearance of panels is created by enclosing the white stucco with wood trim cut into specific shapes and designs, particularly the line of columns under the gable windows. The porch is open with Tuscan-like columns supporting the porch roof. The entry is de-emphasized, a single door with two decorated, vertical lights; the same pattern in the door is continued in the sidelights. Just behind my vantage point is a small lake, which gives the house a commanding position in a beautiful setting.
I was unable to find any information regarding this house, the name and date coming from a local resident who was passing as I was wrapped up in the beauty of this home. This is definitely one of my favorite houses.

After a weekend visiting Gemma, she came to visit me.
Saturday daytime we went to the Ferguson Fawsitt in Walkington for their incredible chicken and bacon pie. Food heaven!
Then Saturday night we went out on Prince's Avenue. It wasn't a late one but we had a great time and got round a few bars.
We met this lovely guy in 80 Days Bierhaus.
