Happy Valentines Day! Hope you all had an awesome day. :) Haha so the title is a bit of a downer considering this is the "day of love." Whatever. I thought it was cool sounding...
These are just staples that I bent (hmmm bended?) into a heart shape. Then I stuck them in an old picket fence...Very exciting I know. :)

I've got a few photos to upload (since it's been awhile), so I'll leave the commenting off for now.
Thanks for looking.
A comment flooded in yesterday on a Daffodils spinning on a turntable long exposure shot (thanks [https://www.flickr.com/photos/196782181@N06] ) about spinning the camera instead. Weather too grot for the particularly scary idea I've used before so I hung my camera off a sort of string cradle under a cantilevered tripod arm and spun it around while swinging eccentrically (having dug my proper strobing flash out)
Looks like I've captured the moment where it hit and shattered the vase (it didn't) but that's just the strobe!

The Sheffield Beer And Cider Festival is something that Gemma always tries to attend and she had hotel bookings for that weekend, but unfortunately as with many things recently, the beer festival was cancelled. BUt we decided to have a Sheffield weekend just the same, and it was a brill time!
Our good friend Sarah also happened to be in town the first couple of days so we got to spend time with her too - first time since early 2020. It was lovely catching up.
Gemma and me doing a dancing video to Mika - Grace Kelly. Fantastic tune!
please comment or make it a fav if you like the picture :-) That makes the photographer happy ...

We had our annual September visit to Newcastle and had an amazing time once again! I just love that city, the people are so friendly and welcoming.
Day 2 we went for food at TGIs then on to Sgt Peppers and finally ended up in Rusty's where we met loads of lovely people as we always seem to do.
Gemma had a huge cocktail in TGIs!

Every time I come back to Russia, people ask me "Why? It's cold and grey here. Spain is much better". True: most of days are cloudy, people can be grumpy and rude (lack of sunlight, I guess), Moscow is overpopulated, dirty and extremly expensive.
How could I don't come back?
Because there is beauty in ugliness too. At least when that ugliness has been your home for seven years. Sometimes even without the ugly part.

One of my lovely friends from Leeds First Friday, Alice, came to Hull for a night out with me. She's really embraced the feminie lifestyle and is making the most of getting out as much as she can, which is wonderful!
We went for a meal at Ambiente tapas restaurant on Humber Street near the marina. From there we went a few doors down to Cuban Pete's Rum Bar and then on for a drink in the Old Town at the King Billy.
Selfies before going out.

It's tough to post these pictures while we're in Tier 3 and the restaurant is closed, but I'll power through! ;-)
This was a weekend of eating loads of fantastic food! This evening we were back at Cognac, the local Fench restaurant, eating food fit for princesses! :-) It was amazing, as it always is - the pork main dish we have is divine!

Leeds Pride weekend. Wow. After a far too long 3 year wait since the last one, we had been building up to this!
For me, Leeds Pride weekend is the highlight of the year. And this year it certainly didn't disappoint!
So to Sunday, the day of the parade. Wow, what an overwhelming, beautiful, wonderful day that was! Meeting up with lots of friends we hadn't seen in such a long time, and of course, the parade itself was incredible to experience. I high fived so many kids along the route, and it was so lovely seeing their faces light up as they high fived!
We met up again with our amazing friends who made us the 'You Matter' pine cone which has resonated down the years (see the picture of the pine cone in my album August 2018 for the story) and it's always a privilege to see them, and the lovely Sue too, a friend we made when she saw the story of the pine cone here on Flickr.
I was emotionally drained by the time the parade was over though, so I didn't go back out into Leeds on the evening. But what a day. I'll remember it for ever!

For the first time in so so long, I went back to Leeds First Friday!
It's moved venue as the Cosmopolitan Hotel has closed for refurbishment so it now kicks off in the Marriott. The venue is much better - bigger, more room, ore seating, more bar staff too.
They also have a huge mirror which was great for group shots - unfortunately, after this, the hotel deicded to put big advertising stickers on the mirror so you can't use it like that ny more. Ah well.
Was absolutely brilliant to meet up with friends I hadn't seen in so long! And make new ones too.
After the Marriott we went to Fibre then The Bridge then Smokestackc. It was an awesome night!
In the Marriott bar, a great new venue for LFF!
I really appreciate all the love, support, comment, encouragement, and feedback I've received.

We did these a couple of weeks earlier in preparation for Hallowe'en weekend, and what great fun they were to do!
Gemma worked her magic with her video editing skills, putting the clips together and making this brilliant clip - I absolutely love this!

It was so good to be back in Lincoln for a weekend after missing it last year. We love Lincoln, it's such a beautiful city.
Saturday evening was just a fantastic evening! We got glammed up and went out looking for somewhere to eat - more difficult than normal because of booking restrictions. But we found a nice Vietnamese place.
After that we walked up steep hill - it is very very steep! - in our heels! That was a first and it actually wasn't too bad - much more difficult coming down, ha ha! And at the top we met a lovely group of girls.
The we went off to The Scene for the evening - it was lovely to be back there. First time we had heard loud music in a public place since pre-pandemic too so it was almost like the old days, although we did have to stay seated at our table.
This was the lovely group of girls we met.

Sunday night we went to see our lovely and so talented friends Smooth Operator playing in Hedon.
We went for delicious food at the Camerton pub beforehand and even managed dessert before heading to see the gig.
Helen (the singer in Smooth Operator) even borrowed my Orinoco womble to wear while she was singing Wombling Merry Christmas, ha ha!

🇬🇧 In July 2007, a year and a half after the "Red Panties" series (number 9), I suggested a photoshoot to Karen.
It was a perfect summer afternoon. Our five-year-old was with the grandparents for a few days, so we were alone. The sun was shining, we were feeling great, and Karen was really keen to pose for the camera.
What progress! What a change of pace since the first sessions when she seemed so shy, so chaste!
She suggested two outfits: a pleated skirt and white sandals, or a black dress with black and gold pumps. A sheer embroidered scarf as an accessory.
She looked stunning in both; I couldn't choose.
This tenth series is, I think, the first one that was truly successful.
It's also the first really substantial one, with more than fifty photos. The fact that my wife was completely relaxed and excited to pose helped me a lot.
The first photos describe her well: a curvy body, a doll with milky-white skin of extreme softness, a sublime creature in her natural sensuality…
~~~~~~~~~~~~
🇫🇷 En juillet 2007, soit un an et demi après la série 9 à la culotte rouge, je propose à Karen un shooting.
C'est un après-midi d'été parfait. Notre enfant de cinq ans a été confié quelques jours aux grands-parents : nous sommes seuls. Le soleil brille, c'est la grande forme et Karen a vraiment envie de poser pour l'objectif.
Quel progrès ! Quel lâcher-prise depuis les premières sessions où elle apparaissait si timide, si chaste !
Elle me proposera deux tenues : jupette plissée et sandales blanches, ou robe noire avec escarpins noirs et or. Un foulard brodé transparent comme accessoire.
Magnifique dans chacune des deux, je n'ai pas su choisir.
Cette dixième série est, je pense, la première plutôt réussie.
La première vraiment conséquente aussi, avec plus de cinquante clichés. Le fait que ma femme soit complètement détendue et excitée de poser m'aide beaucoup.
Les premières photos la décrivent bien : un corps tout en rondeurs, une poupée à la peau laiteuse d'une extrême douceur, une créature sublime dans sa sensualité naturelle...
We decided to do Newcastle for Easter weekend, and what a fantastic weekend we had!
Saturday night we tried out Rusty's Showbar. This used to be The Blonde Barrel but has been taken over by Rusty's and they have regular drag shows on.
We met lots of lovely people and the drag shows were brilliant! What a great night we had! Definitely going back there again.
Slow motion corridor walk in the hotel.
As I commented earlier, the "new" black freestyles are different than the five year old (purchased new) white ones. The biggest differences to me are the obvious ones, the black ones size 4 are smaller by a half inch than the white ones, size 3. The Reebok logo on the sides are different. One is in color, the other a shadow print. One has the British flag in color.
By now, I had removed the heel counter in the new black ones so I could wear them for some hours without discomfort.
As I mentioned with the previous photos, the black ones have much more pliable leather, they stretched to fit my feet better once the heel counters (very hard plastic) were removed.
I’ve wanted to make some changes to the Toa Vihagu for a while now. I made a few changes in November/December of last year, but the bulk of modifications came in a two week stint before school started. The current updates are motivated by my possible displaying at BrickFair North Carolina next year, and if I’m going to be displaying these MOCs I want them to be as good as possible.
Which isn’t to say that I’ve made them as good as possible now. I’ve made some good progress, definitely but there’s still changes I intend to make between now and BFNC
.
Zerkah, the leader of the Vihagu, seemed as good a character as any to introduce the types of changes I’ve made (as you can see here, Jetera has changed very little.) He is, of course, based off the version I made in 2016, but with a few modifications:
*His torso now includes a more stable internal structure, based on Chrin’s. His lower torso is further filled in.
*The shells on his arms have been swapped.
*He now uses Jetera’s thigh design.
*He has a brand new pair of shins.
*The sockets on his feet have been swapped, and his feet have been further filled in.
*He now has a signature weapon, a battle-axe (which I designed last year.)
I originally wanted to remove the Mata red shells on his thighs in favor of Metru red ones, like I did with the forearms, but the size 5 shells were too small for his physique. Furthermore, he ended up looking very dull without the Mata red to brighten things up. I feel like I made a good compromise with swapping out his forearm plates, however. The “iron boot” that has been part of his design since V1 is now gone. Its final fate has not yet been determined – I think the concept adds to his character but I have yet to make a good-looking physical version.
I intend to further develop the shins and fill in most of the pinholes. I’d also like to give him a new head structure (namely one that has eyes).
