Saturday morning we found a new place for breakfast - the Moonraker narrowboat was a lovely little place which we will be using regularly. Nice quality breakfast and lovely friendly people.

Quite a lot of photos from this November evening! Experimenting with a few camera angles so here are the ones which (in my opinion) worked.

For the first time, I went for a weekend visit to Gemma's and we had a great time! We packed loads into a couple of days.
I arrived Friday afternoon, and even though it was a rainy day we went on a drive to Matlock Bath and had a wnader around. It's a beautiful place!
We went to the aquarium and exhibition centre and had a wander up to some of the springs. Amazing clear water in the ponds, just crystal clear.
Afterwards Gemma made one of her legendary toad-in-the-hole with really thick gravy - what a massive meal that was!

The 2015 HUNKY JESUS CONTEST with THE SISTERS OF PERPETUAL INDULGENCE !
A MUSCLE-BOUND, diaper clad, HUNKY JESUS carrying his toy Easter bunnies, two baby bottles filled with milk, and sucking on a pacifier waddled up on stage much to the delight of Sister ROMA and the crowd. Everyone went in to a wild uproar when he squirted his bottle of milk all over his golden tan, rippled muscled beautiful body a la Flashdance. Milk really do a body good...BABY JESUS won the title of 2015 HUNKY JESUS CONTEST!
The sexy lanky ROLLER DISCO JESUS stunned the crowed with his roller skating antics on stage, ok it was his tight muscled body in a white disco jumpsuit which was ripped open in just the right places !
The EXORCIST JESUS also got the audience howling with his Dr. Frankenfurter black lace , neglige outfit and 6-inch black platform boots.
Afterwards, HUNKY, MUSCLE-BOUND BABY JESUS was pulled aside by tons of people for a photo-op !

again the "outside my window" activity began at dusk .... grrr
two hares appeared but only one attended to her/his toilette which consisted of toe nibbling, whisker combing etc. The other seemed more interested in eating - no comment!

Although John Edwin Johnson died before I was born, I am aware that he was not a jeweller or clock maker, but was in fact a wheelwright /coach builder, and had a business in Fylde St, Preston.
John Edwin Johnson’s father was a John Thomas Johnson who was born in Carlisle in 1847 and became an auctioneer/dealer. John Thomas Johnson’s father was also John Johnson who was born in Dublin in 1825. At first he was also an auctioneer/dealer, but later established the prominent jewellers and clock maker business at 10-11 Orchard St, Preston.
In the mid 1870s his son John Thomas Johnson also set up a similar business in Orchard St, and for a while the Johnson’s occupied a number of premises in Orchard St.
I am continuing to try to research into these businesses. John Johnson senior was still at 10-11 Orchard Street as late as the 1881 census, but by this time there was no trace of his son John Thomas Johnson.

Although I technically joined Flickr in 2011, I changed how I used it in February 2012. I changed to become more of a public poster, including participating in groups, making comments and meeting new people as contacts. Its been a fun year and has helped change the way I view photography, as before this I was missing out on a piece of the photography game - sharing my photos. I decided to look back at the last year and post a few of the highlights and important moments. For more details, see the comment.
Recently the Gm script 'Flickr Follow Comments' seems to be crippled by some API changes. Anybody else noticed this? Or is it just a hick up?

Along with some interesting vehicles—is that a 70s Escort fitted with flat wheeltrims?—here we can see some details of this era of Murco branding. The rectangular sign with the original 1960s oval logo (designed by Lippincott & Margulies) placed onto a controlled red background would, not too long after this, be replaced by the 'upright' logo as seen here for example. The blue-with-thin-white-outline text on the red background on the front of the building is quite hard to read. Is that the proprietor standing next to the Commer camper?

At the time of these estate agents' particulars (from Christie & Co, who are still one of the major agents dealing with petrol stations) this garage was on the A133, the main road from Colchester to Clacton-on-Sea, but it has now been bypassed. I thought it would be interesting to share the particulars just to see some of the figures involved. Fuel sales of 2,000 gallons a week equates to about 470,000 litres per year—a level which is still viable for some petrol stations in rural areas, but which is much lower than many large companies would consider supplying nowadays. Sale of used motor vehicles is mentioned as the main income — 103 cars sold during 1985.
Here is my new mini-fig scale AH-64 Apache Helicopter made on LDD! It has a zero-stud design, using SNOT and conventional techniques, to accomplish a smooth design. It also has rotating blades and cockpit that fits two mini-figs. Other design features include authentic forward sensor, 33mm cannon, landing gear, radar dome, and pylons with hellfire missiles and hydra rocket launchers! P.S. this is my first attack helicopter so, PLEASE RATE and COMMENT!

Gemma and I both have our birthdays within a few days of each other so we decided to go back to Lincoln for another weekend to celebrate it.
Our last night in Lincoln was really Gemma's birthday night because we were going back home on her birthday the next day. We found a new place with a light=up dance floor - Fever Boutique.
Good tunes and a great night although we didn't meet many people that night. Very enjoyable nonetheless and there's even video evidence of me dancing, ha ha!
