Arrived in the Uk but may not be able to stay long with you as a small ear surgery possible tomorrow. It is a local anesthetic so should not be too bad.. Might not be able to get online for a few days again.. In the meantime just some bright leaves taken in Poland a week ago. Must be cheering myself up with the bright colours ;-)

A beautiful falls located 30 minutes north west of Deep River, Ontario. Taken at the beginning of the fall.
In this image I've tried to experiment with several ideas:
1) I've taken the motif of the first ever photography, "View from the Window at Le Gras," created by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce between 1826 and 1827 in Saint-Loup-de-Varennes, France
2) The theory of creating colour images after James Clerk Maxwell's three-colour method first suggested in a paper on colour vision (1855).
3) The application using a carbon print - an image consisting of a pigment, rather than of silver or other metallic particles suspended in a uniform layer of gelatin invented by Alphonse Poitevin in 1855.
4) The use of the carbon process, as it was was later adapted to colour, through the use of pigments, by Louis Ducos du Hauron in 1868. The carbon process can be used to create colour images by using a three-transfer process with three seperate negatives exposed through red, green, and blue filters. These negatives are then printed on separate sheets of carbon tissue, each containing a different pigment (cyan, magenta, and yellow). The resulting images are transferred one at a time onto a final support, creating a full-colour carbon print.
A slightly awkward one to process as it was a JPEG. Long story but the camera had been altered to jpeg from RAW without my knowledge and I took a few shots before I realised.......
National Trust, Dyffryn Gardens. I was fascinated by this splash of winter colour and spent a happy hour in this area of the gardens,.
I know, the colour of this bird has nothing to do with the Holidays, but it does look rather festive! A Spotted Towhee (Pipilo maculatus) is a nice addition to any winter scene!

Large and trumpet-shaped, the Hibiscus flower comes in a kaleidoscope of bright colors from white to pink, red, blue, orange, peach, yellow, and purple. It's in the Malvaceae family, which includes hollyhocks and okra. The several hundred species of hibiscus are native to warm temperate, subtropical and tropical climatic regions. This tropical hibiscus (or Hibiscus Rosa-sinensis, Chinese hibiscus or Hawaiian hibiscus) produces showy blooms from spring through autumn, provided they get plenty of sunlight.
I cant think of anything that has such a varied display of shape, texture and colour than the world of plants and flowers, trees and shrubs. This is a May picture taken in Greenwich Park and has all of those attributes.
Apart from the Acer in the bottom left hand corner, I can't name any of the items paraded but am happy to marvel at the superb
blending of colour provided by nature.
Last day to sleep in before Holidays are over & everything goes back to normal. Glad I decided to head out & enjoy the sunrise down on the Sheep river. It's not the mountians but it sure is peaceful. Have a great week everyone & Thanks for looking.
There are two rows of these new, Maritimely coloured houses in a little 'subdivision' near downtown, Fredericton, New Brunswick. Fredericton is the capital of the province of New Brunswick, and around an hour's drive from St. John. I was feeling a bit yecky all day, but we had a great time walking around old Fredericton. We crossed the same bridge 4 times, after accidentally crossing it over the St. John River. lol A very long bridge, and actually, not a bad drive, but, I would have been satisfied crossing it only once. lol Lots to see along the river in Fredericton.
