This Savannah Sparrow's colour scheme of white and black with a splash of yellow is a perfect match for the tree it is sitting in. Nature has a way of producing moments like this, and I couldn't have planned it any better!
A big part of nature photography is simply being in a location with potential, and then seeing and recognizing these moments, and being ready to capture them quickly.
This month's Snap Happy theme is 'Scarlet'.
It doesn't get any more Scarlet than these craypots and ropes in Apollo Bay!

Most of the Autumn colour would be gone in the cooler areas, but my neighbour's tree was late changing. Even though we are now in Winter it is putting on a beautiful display of colour.

I did this colour mood a while ago and never posted, but love the boldness of the combos - the fur is from Pastix, dresses from B E N D E R, the cat was a gacha, glitter tights from Izzie's, hair flowers from laGyo, earrings from Zafair.

Taken at the community garden I help out at. I was initially going to make this B&W, but I flicked it onto false colour in Exposure X4 and it just sort of worked.

Selective Colour is a process that highlights one colour or a coloured object in an otherwise black and white image. This makes the selected color pop .
There are different ways to create an image with a selective colour:
1. You might have a camera with an inbuilt Selective Colour edit tool
2. You can use an editing software which is provided in the internet – many are free to download
3. You create a black and white scene (or with different shades of grey) and insert an item of vibrant colour and take a photo of that scene.

Some days I need colour!!! And today is again one of them. When it is grey outside...
A photographer friend asked an interesting question, why do YOU take photographs?
One answer for me is I love the challenge, and it still and always is!
Lately, I've made it even more challenging (not only because it's on black, which gives off 'negative' reflection), also here it is with lighting, reflective objects and making it all work together the way I want it, with maximum texture, and still be surprised, ALWAYS thrilled.
How can I resist, such superb colours, another photo begging to be taken.
Being creative is not a choice... it is an urge in me.
