I know, the colour of this bird has nothing to do with the Holidays, but it does look rather festive! A Spotted Towhee (Pipilo maculatus) is a nice addition to any winter scene!
Part of the river Lynher at Golberdon nr Callington Cornwall. i have been after a good Autumn scene over the last few weeks and came across this gorgeous tree full of deep red leafes ... Thank you for looking and comments
Taken this evening at Dell Quay Marina near Chichester. I took 25 pictures over an hour and a half standing in cold water just to get this one good one. So don't worry when the pro on his vlog tells you he always does it in one. Maybe he does maybe he doesn't. Most of us don't.

I used an ND 4 grad filter as the sky was so bright with the sun starting to dip down to the right.
I also used an ND10 to get the effect on the water but also to try and get as much colour in the frame as I could as the sun was starting to go behind a massive bank of cloud just out shot.

Selective Colour is a process that highlights one colour or a coloured object in an otherwise black and white image. This makes the selected color pop .
There are different ways to create an image with a selective colour:
1. You might have a camera with an inbuilt Selective Colour edit tool
2. You can use an editing software which is provided in the internet – many are free to download
3. You create a black and white scene (or with different shades of grey) and insert an item of vibrant colour and take a photo of that scene.

Colour version of a recent photo from Macclesfield's Treacle Market. I love the vintage feel of this stall :)
Runner up in the Landscape category of the Practical Photographer magazine Photographer of the Year competition 2010. Ian Bramham won the round with Cloud Machine, and in my mind was unlucky not to scoop the overall prize with his amazing shot:
The colour in the sky was being reflected in the wet sand, so I thought it was time to play with some long exposure panning shots. This is taken on Berrow beach and is a 2 second exposure. The camera was mounted on a tripod to try and keep the horizon level.
