The Sydney Colour Ball is like no other charity event: a sophisticated, colourful cocktail atmosphere that's raised over $1 million for Redkite since its inception, to support children and young people with cancer.

MCs Alex Dyson and Sam Mac returned for this year’s RUBY theme in Sydney’s spectacular Ivy Ballroom, with lively entertainment from Sincopa as well as a host other great fundraising activities.

DIGITALLY COLOURIZED using Photoshop

In 1960 I was abandoned along with my two other brothers in a bus shelter in Manchester aged two……this is the only photo I have from the time before that event.

The ceremony of Trooping the Colour takes place in Horseguards Parade in London, and dates back to the reign of king Charles II, when regimental Colours were paraded in front of soldiers every day to ensure they could recognise the flags of their own regiments.

Nowadays the ceremony marks the official birthday of the reigning monarch.

1,400 soldiers of the Household Division take part in the ceremony, including 200 mounted troops, and 400 military musicians.
