The Shree Giridhar Dham ashram was a historic event for Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda and Bhakti Marga as this marks the first BM ashram and temple in India. In addition to being India, the ashram/temple inauguration occured in the sacred land of Vrindavan.

1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Galaxie Skyliner cabriolet

Jusqu'à il y a peu et depuis les Peugeot Eclipse de 1935, la Ford Fairlane pouvait s'arroger le titre de seul cabriolet à toit rétractable de grande série du monde.
Présentée comme le haut de gamme de Ford en 1955, la Fairlane s'opposait à la Bel Air de Chevrolet et était proposée dans six variantes de carrosserie avec au choix des moteurs V8 ou 6 cylindres. La gamme fut modifiée en 1957, arborant de nouvelles carrosseries plus basses, équipées du dernier gadget stylistique en vogue, des ailerons, avec comme modèle le plus luxueux, la Fairlane 500. Ce fut aussi l'année où fut dévoilée la Skyliner. Bien plus chère que le cabriolet Sunliner, la Skyliner proposait un hardtop qui, d'une simple pression sur un bouton, se rétractait automatiquement dans le coffre. Pour sa dernière année de commercialisation, en 1959, la Skyliner, remotorisée et redessinée, fut incluse dans la gamme supérieure Galaxie, tout en conservant son nom de Fairlane 500.
Ce rare et historique exemple d'exubérance technique américaine a été assemblé à l'usine Ford de San José le 17 octobre 1959 dans une livrée bicolore d'origine noir corbeau/blanc colonial. La voiture reçoit un V8 5442 cm3 de 225 ch à carburateur double corps (3 645 cm3 sur les papiers d'immatriculation) et est équipée de la transmission automatique Cruise-O-Matic et des feux de rétroviseurs optionnels. Repeinte il y a environ vingt ans, date depuis laquelle elle a été peu utilisée, la voiture a récemment fait l'objet d'une révision mécanique et est décrite comme étant en bon état général, y compris son intérieur. La carrosserie a été repeinte en rouge/blanc au cours de la restauration. Acheté par son actuel propriétaire en 2011, la voiture est vendue avec ses titres canadiens (du Québec) et américains (de Floride) annulés, diverses factures d'entretien, un magazine ou figure la Fairlane 500 Skyliner, un prospectus commercial Ford de 1959 et des papiers belges d'immatriculation et de contrôle technique sur lesquels la première date d'immatriculation est erronée, 15/09/1959. Très rare en dehors des États-Unis, la Skyliner concurrence les premières Thunderbird pour le titre de 'plus désirable des Ford de collection'.

The Wallace Collection is a national museum in an historic London town house in Manchester Square near Oxford Street. I took a number of photographs and details of many of the 17th-19th century paintings. The museum allows hand held photographs without a flash, in many places low light prevailed, so my photos are not sharp and serve as a personal reminder of this magnificent collection.
