This picture is not sharp. My camera got frozen in a moment. The lens were so slow to focus.
Yeah, it's not cold yet. Waiting for -50ºC.
Freaking bad weather, it snowed all day but still got a nice sunset picture even though it was still snowing at that time......
P.S. I am very happy that I am again posting to flickr very regularly after a long long time :)

Had trouble sleeping, last night. Not uncommon. Since I knew it was supposed to be chilly, I took a look at my indoor/outdoor thermometer. Yup, chilly during the night, here in Columbia County, New York, USA--January 4, 2014 at 3:55 A.M. That's minus 8 F. Fairly unusual for this area. Thankfully, the forecast for the next few days is higher. It's a bit erratic, though--24, 37, 49, 8, 21, 20, 30--for the next week. Hard to know what season it is, anymore! Here are a couple of interesting links that give some explanation--cold weather being displaced as the Arctic warms:

This is a simple shot of the woods behind where I live. The snow seemed to cover everything just right.
I adjusted the color tones differently than usual, for something slightly different.

This is the East Beach at Lossiemouth in Scotland. It was taken in the late afternoon of Midwinter's Day. This is actually the river side of the beach, and the area in the bottom right hand side is covered with ice from when the tide was in and the river level is high. When the tide went out, the sheet of ice that had formed, settled onto the sand. The white by the sand dunes is not white sand, but frost.

U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Scott E. Brose, a Gold Beach, Oregon, native, tends to a fire alongside Republic of Korea Marines during Korean Marine Exchange Program 15-4 Feb. 4 at the Pyeongchang Winter Training Facility, Pyeongchang, Republic of Korea. Survival skills such as knowing how to find food and clean water and how to build fires and shelters are essential skills in nearly every environment, so this training allows the Marines to be more proficient at what they do, according to U.S. Marine Sgt. I believe the children are our are future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfill my needs
A lonely place to be
So I learned to depend on me
[Chorus]
I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
[Chorus]
And if by chance, that special place
That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love
