The season has officially changed...

Iced trees endanger lone walker. It was a short but heavy snowfall. I used cold tones for this image.

My gnome neighbor hopefully will stay warm this winter!

Boskoop bridge at -5 degrees Celsius, I think, but the fog made it feel much colder

A cold and foggy morning at Rascarrel Bay, Dumfries & Galloway

Winter is still here!

As a cold front makes its way through town, CP 246 banks around the curve at Howard Avenue in Des Plaines with CP's Every Child Matters locomotive (CP 8757) leading.

I would say it was worth running into a downpour for this shot.

Frost on the fields near Harrogate

My fingers was freezing cold when I shot this, so I could'nt hold still.

Nine inches so far and it's still coming down. It's spring time in the Rockies.

A frozen lake on a golf course near Iford Bourenmouth.

Freezing cold here, but a lovely walk yesterday in the sunshine. Been taking a rest from taking photos - the urge to take the camera out seems to have dried up temporarily!

As New Year's Eve rolled into New Year's Day, the beer and wine began to freeze in their bottles. I moved the bar to the garage, and this was the scene in the morning. A frigid cold dusting of snow.

Gate closed to get to the path so a steep climb down through the woods to find the path then down some wet muddy uneven steps to the river. After careful negotiation around and over big wet rocks you will end up at this little beauty of a waterfall known as Cwmdu Glen. It was darkish and a bit cool when this shot was taken down in the gorge.

Blustery, very cold - I sought sanctuary in the National Gallery - next picture - all photos handheld and unaltered - cropped - click for larger - Smithsonian Mall, Washington, D.C.

Zac is the friendliest dog ever, so much so that he wandered off with these two very pleasant guys and their dogs; we met on Birnam Hill. Eventually they had to phone me, and I picked Zac up (the landline no. is on Zac's collar) but I wasn't able to call them back to say thanks. This is one of their dogs: the wee guy found the cold snow on Birnam Hill just too much...

The Sangre de Cristo Mountains keep watch over Cold Creek Canyon in Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve.

Much of this scene is outside the national park proper but inside the national preserve. The preserve designation allows some additional activities like a Jeep trail and hunting in season.

I came across this picture from a trip to Lapland I took about two years ago, I'm still impressed by how some snow and -30°C can take away all colour there is ...

Waded out into the river to do a wool spin. The weather may be unseasonably warm, but the river definitely feels like winter.
