12/28/12 – Cold Winter

And it's sure been a cold, cold winter

And the wind ain't been blowin' from the south

For some of us, winter is a time that we may avoid. We may just sit inside by a warm fire, dreaming of a hot summer. Not these two gals. Robyn and her daughter, Hailey, took advantage of the shining sun on this cold, cold winter day. And to my surprise, Hailey lost her first tooth right before the photo session. We had fun, spite the cold and goofed around quite a bit. Can you guess which one of them was on the naughty list?

It sure been a hard, hard winter

My feet been draggin' 'cross the ground

And I hope it's gonna be a long, hot summer

And the light of love will be burnin' bright

On the 2nd of January 2010 we had about -20 Celsius in Borgå.

I was venturing around town on Saturday afternoon. The sun was very bright and sunny but it was bitterly cold outside.

12-29-10 | SUN-e Picture of the Day: The ice on Abrams Creek is beautiful, but it’s time to say good-bye. After weeks of bitter cold and unrelenting wind, relief is here. According to the National Weather Service, daytime temperatures will be in the 40s this week with a high of 54 degrees on New Year’s Day. (Photo by Cathy Kuehner)

I wish for more icy cool days.

Managed to grill: Salmon, Shrimp, hot dogs, pineapple, and sweet potato. Worth it!

My grandma knitted this a long time ago to block the cold drafts that come under the doors in the winter. I'm sure that there's an actual name for it...but I have no idea what that might be.

The squirrels are loving the new Goodie Bowl. I even saw a chipmunk sitting inside the bowl this morning as I was leaving for work. With any luck, this weekend I'll be able to get some new Jack the Chipmunk shots.

It really WAS cold in Arizona on Friday !!!
