natalie said: Ugh - it looks soooo cold - glad it's you and not me!! We have been there, done that - think the Grand Canyon was the worst we experienced.
Luv u both
where did spring go? Thursday it was in the 70s and now it's 32 and snow on the ground. Hopefully it will melt and warm up soon.
It's my first day in UK so that I haven't adapted myself to the cold weather. BTW, I forgot to take the gloves.
12-29-10 | SUN-e Picture of the Day: The ice on Abrams Creek is beautiful, but it’s time to say good-bye. After weeks of bitter cold and unrelenting wind, relief is here. According to the National Weather Service, daytime temperatures will be in the 40s this week with a high of 54 degrees on New Year’s Day. (Photo by Cathy Kuehner)
We stopped at a campground along the Machias River today. It was a cold November day, and I spotted this person removing his canoe from the river. WEtsuits were hanging on the lean to where he and his friend intended to camp for the night. Temps should reach into the low 20's tonight....brrrrrrr!
I passed these two as I was about to turn into Safeway's parking lot. I saw them next to the Dollar Tree store and was going to stop and try to find out their cirumstance and give the dog a biscuit (I always carry one just in case). I had no money to help, but I even thought of taking them home with me (where I have no water and not a lot to offer) but they were gone when I left Safeway. I am praying for their safety tonight.
Lydia's House is a a ministry of the Richland County Ministerial Association to provide emergency cold weather shelter for homeless families. Different churches each week night from 6pm-8am. I took these photographs of few of the churches participating on Thursday, January 5, 2012 in Richland Center, Wisconsin.
Ignore the time on the photo we've not set this clock right. The time on the photo is correct. Anyway this isn't the coldest we've seen weather wise up here but it's the only one i took of the thermometer. Going out in -10 is an interesting proposition. It's so biting it hurts your face on that initial shock into the cold. However you soon get used to it. Given it's not warmed up much Eleanor and Lucy are both kitted out with snow suits now and nice and snug in the P&T so we can get out and about.
12/28/12 – Cold Winter
And it's sure been a cold, cold winter
And the wind ain't been blowin' from the south
For some of us, winter is a time that we may avoid. We may just sit inside by a warm fire, dreaming of a hot summer. Not these two gals. Robyn and her daughter, Hailey, took advantage of the shining sun on this cold, cold winter day. And to my surprise, Hailey lost her first tooth right before the photo session. We had fun, spite the cold and goofed around quite a bit. Can you guess which one of them was on the naughty list?
It sure been a hard, hard winter
My feet been draggin' 'cross the ground
And I hope it's gonna be a long, hot summer
And the light of love will be burnin' bright
