The principle decoration of the Anver Central Railway station in Antwerp, Belgium. This magnificent railway station has been modernised and extended but they retained much of the decoration and fine workmanship. This is the central facade above the stairs and escalators.
A roundabout just up from the train station in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, features a non-functioning Clock Tower (1961).
The analog clock at an information booth in the main hall at Washington National (NOT Reagan!) Airport. That's AM; way too early.

I like historical buildings/architecture, it always amazed me with the details on the facade, the amazing craftsmanship.
It is a must see for me every time I visit City of London.
The Central Terminal train station was opened in 1929 and closed in 1979. Time and vandals have taken a toll on this magnificent structure. Ther is a group in Buffalo trying to restore the terminal and facility once used for the Robert Redfor movie "The Natural."
Maddie: "This is our Mantle Clock but it needs to go to the clock doctor to get fixed."
When it is working it chimes - it can be set to do the full Westminster tune but we usually have it set to just chime the number of the hour. Because it sits on top of my piano it resonates through the piano and is very loud. The next-door neighbour had lived there for almost 2yrs before his partner told him that what he heard every hour was NOT the Town Hall clock! :-)

Well, vacation is over and it's time to get back to work. Thankfully I love my job so I don't dread it like a lot of people going back today - but I will miss spending as much time with my family and out with Napoleon as I've been able to do!!
I am really going to try to start taking pics of more random things (like this clock) for possible Getty selections. I really have been pleased with my sales through them the past six months and would like to step it up a notch but that depends on me shooting not only what I love (horses!) but being a little more creative.
Please don't feel like you have to comment on everything - it's really not necessary!
Wishing you all a good first day back to work if you've had off for the holidays like I have - an extra cup of coffee should help and hey - at least it's a short week!! :)
The Prague astronomical clock, or Prague orloj, is a medieval astronomical clock installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest one still working. The astronomical dial has a background that represents the standing Earth and sky, and surrounding it operates four main moving components: the zodiacal ring, an outer rotating ring, an icon representing the Sun, and an icon representing the Moon.

Ok...funny story...while shooting this collage of clocks, I went into the kitchen to see what time it was-out of habit I guess-lol. Major blonde moment, eh?!
Anyway, I love clocks! I have at least one in every room! My six year old only knows how to tell time on these old school clocks, not digital. I guess I am someone who likes to know what time it is. I like to be on somewhat of a schedule. Even when I was a kid I loved and collected watches. Maybe its the constant tick tock tick tock that I love. Maybe its just my need to collect things. Whatever it is...I love clocks and the hope of more time.
