We were surprised to find a group street cleaners had a little base on a sideroad and they even had washing hanging up to dry !

I run into this man from time to time as he washes windows of the Cedar Fairmount buildings. Having worked that job while in college I know what a rough gig that can be especially in cold weather. #respekt

Muss auffallen

It was raining, and cold. I wanted to make a potrait of a lonely man. His plastic raincoat made his standing out of the background. The results was not that good because of the distance and angle of view.

When a squirrel jumped into the finch feeder, it sent seed flying everywhere. A bit later I spotted a junco being helpful and cleaning up all the seed that had landed on the sidewalk.

Bev thinks it looks better without the tree - I'm not sure! I think the trunk broke up the drab patch to the right. There was more water today which gave it a slightly different look but cut down my options for composition - I need waders!

A view from platform 2 at Redhill, with the grimy cab of electro-diesel 73 213 in the foreground. In complete contrast a beautifully clean 73 961 'Alison' is in platform 3.

73 213 has been on Rail Head Treatment Train duties during the autumn, hence the filthy condition of the loco. Re-engined 73 961 was at the front of a Network Rail test train, waiting for a path onto the North Downs route to Guildford.
