A one-location family owned business which has operated for more than 50 years. Based on snippets of conversations that I have overheard between staff and customers in their parking lot, this place provides old-school, small town friendly service and its customers are loyal.

This shot came out supper vibrant for some reason. It was located on an Island of flowers that borders Italy and Switzerland

The big dry cleaner in Paducah.

Drops of record cleaner fluid on a 45-rpm record. The record is on a record-cleaning machine consisting of a turntable driven at slow speed, a spindle with a threaded clamping knob to hold the record snugly in place, and a built-in vacuum to suck up the fluid and debris.

The fluid is applied with a squirt bottle, a fine-haired brush is used to distribute the fluid and scrub the record for ten revolutions of the record in reverse, then forward, then the record is vacuumed clean and dry.

A washroom in a big abandoned factory in East Europe

I was in one of the branches of the old dry cleaners that was in the group that I worked for back in the day talking to an old colleague when he said look at that - I turned on the spot , fired up the camera and took a shot . As you can see in that time it had started to go behind the fence so I did not get a full shot unfortunately . I will not stick my head out and say what this is other than to say that it is an old Alvis - year and model I am not sure . For the eagle eyed you will see part of my SSC shot now with all the masonry demolished !!

And that is another random car on the streets !!

As George Formby put it:

"Now I go cleanin' windows to earn an honest bob

For a nosy parker it's an interestin' job

Now it's a job that just suits me

A window cleaner you would be

If you can see what I can see

When I'm cleanin' windows"

I've found a comparable photo (to my previous post) with big bubbles to show you the results of my attempt to clean the lens. There are still dots inside the bubble but at least there are fewer blemishes.

Looks can be deceiving, as from a slightly elevated position, this long freight train is actually climbing up the one in 50 grade through Allard.

The abnormally clean Warbonnets were a bonus, as were three mid-train helpers that are unfortunately hidden behind one of the kinks here (two 40-2s and a dash 9). The underexposed, grainy back-focussed, fungus-infested slide was the opposite of a bonus, but it's cleaned up reasonably well. Oh to take a digital camera and a few decent lenses for a trip in Doc's DeLorean Time Machine...
