Greater Anglia Class 156 'Super Sprinter' 2 car Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) 156402 departing Norwich Station with the 17:42 to Cromer and Sheringham.
This recently overhauled and refurbished unit is surprisingly spacious and comfortable.
This was our train back down the Bittern Line from Sheringham to Norwich which arrive some 15 minutes beforehand. ;-)

British Rail Class 158 'Express Sprinter' 2 car Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) 158886 waiting to depart with the 1R60 16:57 (16:57 RT) East Midlands Trains service train to Manchester Piccadilly at Norwich Station in Norfolk (UK) on July 19th 2018.
This train arrived at Manchester Piccadilly at 21:53 some 17 minutes late.

Bombardier (Derby) Class 375/3 "Electrostar" 750v dc 3rd rail express 3-car emu No.375 305 of South Eastern at Charing Cross, 08/07.
Brush Class 47/7 1,580 hp Co-Co No.47 500 (ex-D1943; later 47 770) (ex-"Great Western"; later "Reserved") of BR Rail Express Systems in RES livery. At Bristol (Bath Road) depot 04/94. Scanned slide taken on a Canon ES-1 Program.
Class 111 differed from the generally similar Class 101/2 by being fitted with Rolls-Royce C6NFLH engines of 180 hp. On the final batch of cars a four character headcode box was originally fitted above the front cab windows, with the destination indicator on top of a reduced height centre window. This 2 car set carries MetroTrain PTE branding.
These were examples the class instructor brought for us to view. Here was the class description:
"Learn how to easily and cheaply produce small tokens, jewelry and dress accessories the way it was done in the Middle Ages. Students will learn about the use of pewter tokens, badges and trinkets in the 14th and 15th centuries, and will have the opportunity to produce a small piece of their own, carving a soapstone mold and casting it themselves. Instructors will provide soapstone for a mold, metal for casting, all tools, dust masks and a handout of period examples."
A class 150 catches the late afternoon sun as it leaves Bristol TM with a westbound service. Sunday 11th December 2005.
Electro-Motive Diesel Inc. Type JT42CWR Class 66 Co-Co diesel locomotive 66551 working the 427C 07:45 (13:25 23E) Wentloog (Newport Wales) -Felixstowe North Freightliner intermodal service northbound under the pedestrian overbridge at Hatfield Peverel Station on the Great Eastern Main Line in Essex (UK).
66551 was built at the EMD facility in Ontario Canada and entered service in the United Kingdom on December 14th 2001.

Hitachi (Kasado & Newton Aycliffe) Class 800/0 25 k v ac overhead/diesel electric bi-mode 5-car mu No.800 022 of GWR at Reading on a Paddington - Swansea service, 30 June 2018.
The leading bogie and drivers cab looking decidedly ex works on British Rail Class 170 'Turbostar' diesel multiple unit (DMU) 170104 as operated by Cross Country Trains at Tyseley TMD (Traction Maintenance Depot) at Tyseley in the West Midlands (UK).

BREL/ABB (York) & Metro-Cammell (Birmingham) Class 465/0 "Networker" 750v dc 3rd rail 4-car emu No.465 034 of Southeastern at Brixton on a Victoria - Orpington service, 12/07.
31428 passes Beeston (Notts) with the 07.55 Sheffield to Ipswich on Friday 6th May 1988. A local landmark for many years the Beeston Boiler factory had recently been demolished.
This is a standard Farish class 20 renumbered and weathered to produce a unique model for the layout.
Class 321 'dusty bin' 4 car Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) 321338 heads south into Hatfield Peverel Station on the Great Eastern Main Line in Essex (UK) with a London Liverpool Street bound National Express East Anglia service train.
Note the 'Great Eastern' decal on the front of the train and train dispatch paraphernalia on the left.

DB freight class 60 locomotive , 60044 , DOWLOW , passing the remains of the Dorman Long site at South Bank , near Middlesbrough , in the North East of England .
Alstom (Birmingham) Class 390 "Pendolino" 25k v ac overhead high speed express 9-car emu No.390 046 "Virgin Soldiers" of Virgin West Coast speeding through Lichfield Trent Valley (Low Level) on a Glasgow Central - Euston service, 09/08.
East Midland Train's Class 158 158866 (57866 + 52866) was still in basic Alpha Line colours but with EMT branding when pictured on the 10-53 to Norwich on Platform 2 at Chesterfield on June 6th 2009.
Class 156 'Super Sprinter' 2 car Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) 156479 as operated by Northern Rail entering Darlington North Road Station in County Durham (UK) with a Bishop Auckland to Saltburn service train.
Darlington North Road Station is on the route of the world's first steam locomotive railway, the Stockton and Darlington Railway which dates from 1825 although nowadays the railway is either called the Tees Valley Line or Bishop Line which runs from Bishop Auckland to Darlington, Middlesbrough and Saltburn.
PKP Class Ol49 2-6-2 No.Ol49-69 with earlier type smoke deflectors dumped at Leszno Depot, 20 November 2017. The Ol49 Class were a Polish development of the Russian Class Su 116 were built (Including 4 for North Korea) in 1951-54 by Fablok of Chrzanow. The class introduced a new type of boiler-mounted smoke deflectors peculiar to Poland. They had 40 sq ft grate, 5'9" driving wheels, 19.6" x 25" cylinders, 227 psi boiler pressure and weighed 82 tons.
General Motors powered Network Rail 'bodysnatcher' Class 57 locomotive, 57310 tails 57305 in the sandite/water mist at speed southbound at Generals Lane Boreham on the GEML with the autumn weekday 08:34 3S60 Stowmarket DGL- Stowmarket DGL via Shenfield, Clacton, Bury St. Edmunds, Ely, Thetford, Soham and Norwich etc RHTT sandite spraying duties.
RHTT trains spray water and sandite jets at up to 20,000 psi for the cleaning and removal of autumnal fallen leaves from the rail head.
57310 first entered service as Brush type 4 D1618 on September 5th 1964.
